Yes as a non US resident you will need to provide the airline with a copy of your vaccination status.  At least on United you need to complete their Travel Ready Center.  Also be prepared to show a copy of your vaccination status at the counter as sometimes they ask, sometime they don't.  Flying today uploaded everything yesterday.

An update, we did have to show proof of vaccination at the check in counter at United. last week.

When did the President say that non US residents did not require vaccination to enter the US?

Here is the link to the proclamation.  He said it back in Oct 2021, I am sure it has been updated since.  The picture of a screen shot on the CBP site with the covid updates.

  3. Forgot to mention, food we had in the MDR was great breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Izumi's was very good.  Since we are not big dessert eaters we were able to trade our desserts in for 2 additional small plates.  We also went to Chops and it was ok.  Haven't been impressed with Chops in years plus it was a free meal from our travel agent.

  4. We were on the Voyager back in September for the TA and loved it.  Best bar we found was The Tavern.  Traveling with twenty people we all would pop in and out at different times there before dinner or evening plans.  Plenty of seating and the music was not loud so you could have a conversation.

Yes you get on the ship on deck 4.

@Broons77 are you a Ray Bourque fan?  Our cat in our avatar was a Marchand fan.

  5. This is not intended to start a discussion on tipping, but we tip a dollar per drink on our drink coupons.  We get 5 each, so at the beginning of the day I slip 10 ones in my pocket.  When I run out of ones, we have run out of coupons.  That's how we keep track.  Our other drink purchases have no additional tip as there is 18% included.

In our case. we were flying to the US & the Covid vax acknowledgement wouldn’t allow us to check-in in advance. We have since learned that it will often work on a computer when it doesn’t work on a mobile device. Total mess. We are sorely disappointed in WS & since we live in Calgary, we’re likely stuck with them.

Red Arrow has been offering coach service in Alberta for decades. For many people, Red Arrow is the preferred way to travel between Calgary & Edmonton. Much less expensive than flying & it can take less time! Glad your family was able

    to be together.

Aren't they planning on building a ultra high speed train that runs in a vacuum tube on magnets?

Ok, I miss my homemade ice cream.  Should I bring my ice cream maker on board?  What about a toaster oven to make some homemade lasagna?

I'm accustom to wood fired pizza.  If I have room in my pizza oven, you are more than welcome to cook your lasagna.  Using a toaster oven for lasagna is so provincial.

That's a very good point, thank you.  I'll have to investigate.

Slightly off topic but along the same lines we had a similar experience with Air Canada.  We were booked in Business Class on an A320 and selected our seats at the time of booking.  (We normally ride with our fellow peasants but had not travelled in three years so decided to treat ourselves.)  Online checkin opens up at 24 hours prior to departure.  We checked in online around 6 hours prior and our seats were gone.  We had been moved forward to the bulkhead row which we didn't want but never did fight it.  So how did that happen?  And, yes, the flight was full in both classes.

Lesson learned, book asap or check in

  9. I wish what Royal would do is to sell the drink package depending on your status.  Before I get flamed hear me out.  On our last cruise in November, we drank as usual purchasing a few beers during the afternoon and in the evening when we used our coupons.  We started the day with a Cesar on the coupons then in the evening before and after dinner the remaining drinks on coupons.  Only one or 2 nights we purchased a Guinness for a nightcap.  In total we spent $33 each on drinks per day on that cruise.  So if Royal would sell me a drink package for even $40, I would probably buy it.  Not for $75.99.

    Or $75.99 - ($14 X 5) = $5.99 difference if I didn't purchase anymore beverages.

  10. Hampton Brickle was fabulous.  Stayed there overnight before our cruise in November.  Nice clean newly renovated hotel.  Minutes from Publix and other restaurants.  There is Miami's free people mover station right beside the hotel that can take you to many other locations.  Would stay here again hands down.

  11. We purchased seats on WestJet and they were given up for crew that was traveling.  Another flight purchased business class tickets and stuck me back in economy and there were empty seats up front.  Unless they are the only option, I will not fly WJ again.  They are a discount airline and that is what you can expect from one.

As a car nut I’d love to buy you a beer at the pub, even if to gloss over the automotive world. The reason why I mentioned the Bruce is I got to tour it during this September as part of the Cobble Beach Concours, with about 50 people.  The level of security there was high, and that’s why I pictured you there with your explanation. Now I envision you at Multimatic. 🤔😉😁

Absolutely would join you and share what I can.  Funny you mention Multimatic as I did do work for them at one point of my career.  We have a couple of divisions south of you.

  13. Originally I only well wished anyone headed to a cruise and I did not want to offend anyone that was not traveling to a cruise.  Trying to be all inclusive is tough.

So a change in direction... Who is worried about missing your cruise because of the weather and what alternative plans have you put in place?
