  1. Thanks for posting this great historical account. This was the first ship we cruised on. Many good memories. I remember the ice sculptures in the MDR every night. And the food! Oh so wonderful. We were young and didn’t realize our inside cabin had 2 single beds, about 4 feet apart, and bolted to the floor lol.
  2. It's up and running on Koningsdam. It worked like a charm on our Hawaiian cruise in April.
  3. We were in 6139 and no, same old carpet. It was really worn near the door/bathroom area.
  4. I was on the Koningsdam recently and noticed that my phone found a Bluetooth signal from the tv. I didn’t bother trying to connect, but if you can, you could probably cast from your phone. I have an iPhone. My daughters android also detected the tv.
  5. GE is Global Entry, more commonly referred to as Nexus in Canada. And, yes there is a Nexus line in Vancouver.
  6. We just went straight through to the desk. No machines. They were also processing the disabled passengers there, so it was a bit slower. I should also mention that we also had expedited boarding due to 4* status. I had heard someone mention that they were made to sit and wait, but we were ushered straight onboard. I think we may have just been in the right place at the right time!
  7. We were able to go in the NEXUS line with no problem on April 13 in Vancouver. We were onboard in about an hour. We arrived at the terminal around 11am.
  8. I saw a post a few days ago that the health Q has been eliminated. I can't find it either, so I'm taking my chances;)
  9. I remember once in St. Lucia, we were on our verandah admiring the Pitons, and the woman next door to us started loudly exclaiming that they looked just like a woman's b****ts. She kept repeating it over and over to someone on her balcony. My husband and I were laughing so hard at her but she never noticed lol.
  10. We shared our cabana with friends once. They weren't charged, but they did tip the attendants handsomely.
  11. Let me tell you about my covid experience in Italy. I was not on a cruise, but on a land vacation when I got Covid in August. Tour company had me do an "official" test with the Italian Authorities. My passport was supposedly flagged. I was never contacted by the Italian Health Authorities, and just quarantined in the Venice hotel I was already staying in. I was booked there for 7 days. The night before my booked flight home, I did my own self test with a test I brought from home, and it was negative. I decided to take my chances, and went to the airport to see if they would allow me to fly. Checked in, passport checked, and... not a word about my covid diagnosis. I flew home. Easy. Now, if I was still testing positive, I wouldn't have tried this. This is just my personal experience, so it may not work this way for someone else. Best of luck with your situation.
  12. We received notification of this change almost 3 months ago. Maybe check your spam folder in case the notification is there. Final payment isn't due yet, so you can cancel without penalty.
  13. A friend found herself in a similar situation. She was a solo traveller and was paired up with a roommate. She discovered the roommate stealing and going through her belongings. She requested a move and she was given her own cabin. I don't know if she had to pay any extra.
  14. We used Verifly and uploaded our vax certificates (with the QR code), and our test results. No problems at all. Also, some ports required vaccination proof and we just showed the digital version on our phones and it was fine. This was in the Caribbean.
  15. Does anyone miss the Halcats? They were a bit of a love/hate thing a few years ago. I don't miss them at all! 🤣
