  1. We as well...and were pretty bummed out that we could not book even a JS...let alone a GS on the WC. Was told all along, and even with checking once a month, that all the suites were booked for the full WC pax. So...balcony it is for the longer cruise. Then, I figured..."what the heck" I bid just over minimum on a GS. No way that was going to happen. But it did. 😮 Now in GS for the first quarter. 😉
  2. Uh-oh...Hawaii for you as well? Yikes. Though in my case it was a fee we had to pay online for parking. It directed me to a nefarious site they had problems with in the past, the agent told us when we I called when we got our parking ticket. Luckily I had the other CC.
  3. Thanks my friend! Good to hear from you...and say hello to Pauline for us! 🙂
  4. We have not started packing our clothes yet...but that is coming up soon this morning. We always pack the morning before the cruise. Our shuttle pickup tomorrow is 4 am...yikes! 😮 Delta changed our flights to make sure we did not sleep much the night before. 😝
  5. I used to do that...but have to leave it on for the caretaker. He waters our outside plants, and makes sure the toilets get flushed once a week. I do turn off the washer hoses when we leave though.
  6. We are lucky enough to have a satellite post office inside our community. They will hold our mail for a fee if going over 30 days. Doing that this morning when they open. Normally when we are gone for months we use mail forwarding...but that won't work for this. 😉 I would pull up the website for USPS or visit your post office. I am sure they have something to set up for you?
  7. Happened to us on our first day of traveling up to Maine in the motorhome some years ago. Skimmer (which I spotted too late, and then reported) at a Flying J station. I had them send replacement up to our campground, but we had to go without for the whole trip up there from Florida. I quickly learned to have a back up card, and now a third card. Both of those with no annual fee...so no big deal.
  8. Ahh..thanks. Should check that out. We usually just do a taxi, but someday will try the Uber. We have shuttle service in our community that takes us to MCO, then "puddle jump" flight to Miami...Taxi from there to port. Set price from airport to cruise port for taxi is 27.00. Not sure what Uber charges?
  9. LOL...my sink faucet has not found it's way into the tech age...yet. 😉 Really cute idea about the quarter! We have house sitter that checks on the house almost daily, so he would let us know if there is a power outage...he lives just two doors down. We are lucky to have him. 🙂
  10. Yup...thanks! I take my main CC, but I don't use it when traveling. I have two back up cards...2nd one being the RCI Visa card (which is the one I use when cruising)...and the third one is an oddball if needed....a Walmart Capitol One card. Just recently someone...again ...stole my main Visa card number online...ugh. And this last June, my RCI card number was stolen while in Hawaii. That is why I have a 3rd back up.
  11. Interesting check list we all have to do, being gone so long. 1. Refill meds to last duration. 2. Appointments (Doctor, Dentist, eye Doctor, Hair cuts...etc.) 3. Dump your entire medicine cabinet in the bag. 😮 4. Set up bills to be paid 5. Hold mail..."you want it held how long?!!!" 6. Set up someone to watch over your Casita 7. Vaccines: (I feel like a pin cushion) Had Yellow Fever, Typhoid, flu, Covid booster last 4 weeks 8. Favorite toiletries to last duration (shampoo, conditioner, soaps, etc. for we that are picky). 9. Set up transport to cruise terminal...(not doable to leave vehicle in parking lot). There are more...what am I missing? 😉
  12. Indeed... last year I received the email at 9 pm the night I boarded, and had gone to bed. A denial of course. However...this one just came two days ago (I sail Sunday). I won my bid...but this gave me time to reprint my set sail pass and luggage tags. 🙂
  13. LOL...not sure what the word is...but I sat with her one time while she was making the tiny hats for the new born babies.
  14. Laura, as in John and Lala...is a fantastic knitter. She does hats for new babies. She is wonderful that she contributes those.
  15. Unfortunately you won't find him on CC. His fault. Apparently he was a bad boy too many times. And like you...I miss his posts. 😞
  16. Total bummer! I have never like the supplied hair dryers and always bring my own.
  17. I was actually replying and agreeing to your statement of suites guests should get first access. 🙂
  18. Pax in full suites get an email from the concierge about 5-6 days in advance. That is when we reply back for requested reservations...which is far in advance of in person visit on embarkation day.
  19. No. They are all first come first serve be it Pinnies or JS. CK host simply fills in the reservations on her/his screen as each person visits the podium in person.
  20. Your idea about a simple tap light that sticks to the inside of the closet is perfect. And makes the most sense of course. 😉 That is what I plan to do as well.
  21. That picture is the only time I will see it. 😉 Looks like an employee prep closet?
