  1. We are going from very hot Rio to not so warm Antarctica....with Ushuaia being a tad chilly, so yeah...we have the hot to cold weather clothes...and everything else as well. I may be silly, but I am packing a 1.5 inch extremely compressed king size mattress foam topper in one of my duffle bags, that takes up most of the room in just that one bag. 😉
  2. Aww...you are welcome. And BTW...I love your avatar picture! Such a beautiful kitty!
  3. Trying to figure out what we will need for the next 63 nights. I can't imagine what the full 274 night pax have to deal with! 😮 No Walmart or Amazon deliveries. So meds, and other things...yeah...a challenge. We usually take two suitcases...but will be two suitcases and two duffle bags. Yikes. 😉
  4. Thanks..I have totally enjoyed the review and travels of @orville99 as he has brought us along on the Shakedown cruise. Thanks again Orville! Time for us to welcome the ship back to Miami. 🙂
  5. Not intending for this to MY live review of the World Cruise, but rather a place for all of us on the adventure to post as we continue the journey, and others that want to follow us along...virtually. Ready to sail fellow World Cruisers? How is the packing progressing? Quite the challenge on this one. 😉 And a special thank you to @Merion_Mom for posting the blog thread. This is in addition to the blogs choice, and is simply for posting here on CC. 🙂
  6. When our B2B Radiance cruise was cancelled in 2020, we still went to Alaska. I simply replaced the 2 week cruise with a stay in cabin in Homer. We also kept the self tour we had planned for the 10 days prior to the doomed cruise that took us over the Arctic circle, and Denali. Like you....we adore Alaska. 🥰 Will be renting a car in Seward when we disembark, and do 2-3 weeks near Homer again post cruise.
  7. You two being in the lounge when we cruise with you....makes it a pleasure to be in there for us, and is really the only time we use it. 🙂 Such great times we had cruising with you and Kathy...hope it happens again! And we are starting to try Celebrity!
  8. It is indeed addictive....all this time to cruise...so many choices. 😉
  9. I also, have a B2B for Alaska booked. Rebook of what was cancelled a couple of years ago due to Covid. Radiance Seward to Vancouver and back. Love that route...this will be 5th time. 🥰 Not sure if we will do PR cruises again...starting to be too much "been there...done that".
  10. OMG!! That is a whole lot of Ds and D+!!! Yup, changes are being forced to happen with the C&A program. Yikes! There were over 500 Pinnies on our westbound TA on Wonder.
  11. We found cruising out of San Juan to be Pinnie light. And Alaska...really rare to see them. Now TAs? Big numbers!!
  12. Really isn't anything to do with C&A for myself. Though I will get the rotten tomatoes tossed at me...again...or the flames, but I am actually in the camp that believes the Suites Lounge should be for suites. Cut and dried...no politics, no Pinnacle bashing. Then...If you are in there...you are in a suite along with all the other suite's pax. I also enjoy the Pinnacle "lounge" which is really an event in a section of a common lounge...but is a good alternative. And the newly named "CL"...funny how that is actually back again...is great for coffee and C&A members, Diamond and up. Yeah, sometimes Diamonds may be restricted for a couple of hours, but vouchers are readily available. With the voucher program, IMHO there is no reason not to enjoy the interesting variety of bars and lounges around the ship. We always used to hang out in the C&A lounges, but have found we were missing the fun of "bar hopping" around the ship. But that is just me...and it works for us. Now DO realize I did not create this situation, only saw the writing on the wall. Too many higher up C&A members as the population starting turning "more gray". The C&A society had to change along the way, only due to the huge numbers on board now. Something had to give...and so it goes.
  13. Check your app. That is where I found my confirmed early TD. Many times when we board the ship, the table number will appear as well. We try to check out the location then.
  14. Yes, there are shady areas. Funny thing is those are more popular than the sunny ones. Buck is just a confirmed "sun lizard". 😉
  15. It was even worse when I changed cabin locations. Got all the docs for the new cabin, then they changed it back...and would not give me a reason!! One rep recommended I email the WC desk. Got an answer back in 2 hours...all fixed. I don't think the regular CS reps should be handling the WC logistics....that thing has become a monster to deal with. Growing pains for RCI with this new venture. 😣
  16. Definitely agree...and had been saying that all along. It's a tease...a marketing ploy to get you all excited...at a price. Sigh...remember the sweet up grade fairy years ago that would offer free upgrades...no cost at all? Got lucky many years ago (twice). Since then her evil sister the Upbid fairy came along and threw her overboard. RIP sweet fairy. 😢
  17. LOL!! Nuuk..Nuuk...we are there! 😄 Actually Nuuking out next summer there on RCI world cruise, as well as in 2025 with Viking Octantis.
  18. It seemed creepy, but they had all my info for the cruise. Though I know from several websites, including RCI's website, and reps on the phone that the suites are sold out for my cruise. Including a trusted TA on these threads...Ken you know who you are. 😉
  19. You would not believe the hassle I had trying to change off MTD to go on 1st traditional for the WC. Was told from the beginning that all WC pax were put on MTD...if doing the whole cruise or quarters...all MTD, Then the 17 mini legs came out and heard from other CC members doing the mini legs that they were getting TD choices. Huh? Finally was able to change it out to 1st traditional for the 1st quarter after a lot of phone calls. Don't even want to think what I will have to go through again for the 4th quarter to change it. 😕
  20. Has anyone, that had put in a bid in on Royal Up...ever received an email from RCI telling you that your bid was "out bid" and then asked if you want to up the bid? I don't bid often, but I was surprised at this email. I am 10 days from sailing, and had bid on a GS.
  21. To me, IMHO...if non-suite Pinnies are out...so should JS pax. OK...wait...let me adjust my flame suite here..ahhh...OK, fire away JS pax. After all...neither the JS pax nor the non-suite Pinnacles are in a full suite. But alas...I don't make the rules. 😉 Oh yeah, I am going to get burned here. That's OK...it's almost happy hour and I can put out the flames. 😄
