  1. Agree...now they have the flexibility to adjust per cruise...according to the numbers on board.
  2. Love it. Those Alaska cruises are so fun! That is how they collected the chunk of ice on Radiance also. And I think you are right...they did a carving as well on Radiance. 🙂 Been several years now since we did that route...looking forward to it again in 2025. 🙂 Wow...must have been really wild watching them auguring the holes for the charges!
  3. No, they were still there at the end of the cruise. Not sure what the officer gave them as a fine.
  4. I was sent a bottle of wine from an officer that asked to come into our cabin to be able to peer around our balcony to see the pot smokers next to us. They were busted...not once but twice.
  5. I didn't think it was spelling...I thought you were serious.
  6. Wow...glacier ice all around for our happy hour drinks! 😄 Funny thing though, as when we do the Alaska Radiance B2Bs...they actually do collect a chunk of ice during our visit to Hubbard Glacier to offer for drinks. They drag it around on a cart after collecting a chunk. So funny!
  7. OK...my bad again. I was looking at the title of this thread. I guess I must have missed something. I am also assuming you are not on the WC. Sorry I won't have the pleasure of meeting you.
  8. One week from today...should all be boarding the Serenade for our new adventure! 🙂
  9. And I am most thankful for that! Thanks my friend...that is most reassuring. 🙂
  10. You do realize there is no Coastal Kitchen on the World Cruise right? How about let's get back to the actual subject of this thread?
  11. Sorry... I assumed you were a casino master. My bad. 😉
  12. I would think going through the Beagle channel and the Magellan straits would have to be challenging. This will be our first time cruising through there. Bucky has been there as land based in the past for working down there years ago. But never on a boat/ship heading through.
  13. I agree. When we lost our last kitty, (5 years ago now) I had kept her picture up as my avatar for a couple of years as well. Only reason it came down, was a glitch during an update process with CC. I finally added the picture of sunrise coming into Nassau as replacement. They do leave paw prints on our hearts. 😽 I still miss her dearly. 😢
  14. I so wish that you and Kathy were joining us...but will be good to hear from you as we travel! 🤗
  15. We booked the earlier part. Starting in Milwaukee, touring the great lakes, staying on board in Toronto, then continuing up the Seaway, the NW passage...ending in Nuuk. The next leg was a repeat, Nuuk to Nuuk, so opted to fly home from there. We are headed out in less than a week to do Antarctica with another line, so opted out of that part as well.
  16. I actually hope Serenade is docked downtown in couple of weeks. Love walking around there, and only experienced docking there just once. Though we have taken a taxi there from the international pier n the past. Panchos is both downtown (the original) and the 2nd one next door at the Carnival Pier. Mmmmm...yums!
  17. Happy almost retirement! One thing we noticed when we retired 15 years ago...wow...the time flies when you are having fun!! 😄
  18. Thanks! Though I do have to keep in mind...this is not a Viking cruise. 😉 The topper is due to reports of very firm mattresses...even with them being replaced. And no...RCI ships have not provided toppers to pax under request for many years now. It's not so much the clothes, though we will have to pack for 90 degree...down to 40 degree weather changes, but rather the "other things". Indeed meds, possibly needed cold/flu meds, heartburn, misc. etc. Shampoo/conditioner/favorite bar soaps (shower has the "universal" crap soap for body, hair, etc. that the DH especially hates). I also am taking extra toothpaste, and other toiletries that could be tough to find. Self service laundry machines on board? LOL! It is only offered for the full 274 day World Cruise pax (we are only on half...being first and last quarter). We all get the "wash and fold" which we laughingly call the "Boil and Fry". You definitely don't want to send anything out to that of which you care about. 😮 I take my collapsible small laundry tub and some detergent for hand washing...plus my wonderful hook magnets I can hang clothes from the ceiling to dry with. Dry cleaning very expensive, but we will be using that as well when needed. Tidy? Our cabin attendants like to tease us that they really don't need to clean our cabin...just replace used towels. 😉 Which is why having the once a day cleaning does not bother us at all, and is actually preferred for us. It will be an interesting experience to say the least. 😄
  19. Aww..drats...but hoping you have a wonderful 3rd quarter cruise! I have one way flights to Barcelona booked already, and even the return flight from Miami in September set up. Will be another nice quarter leg 🙂
  20. You are most welcome. I thought it would be nice to have somewhere here on CC for the WC cruisers to post observations. Will be fun!
