  1. Haven't heard much from him today....perhaps enjoying some John time with a couple of Cape Codders. 🙂
  2. Thanks for the info! Will be back on Jewel again for another 6/8 B2B by end of Feb.....will be interesting to see it the new ones are on board at that time. 🙂
  3. Indeed sounds like you had a snake for an asst. head waiter. Shame on him.
  4. Yes. It has been in our profile for many years. Always a table for two, without having to ask.
  5. Thanks! Hoping to use it for my usual early morning coffee run by Saturday morning. 🙂
  6. I could have mentioned it in the survey...but he seemed to be eating lots of Crow the rest of the week. 😉
  7. Wow...broke since September? Yikes. Are they giving out Latitudes gift vouchers?
  8. Funny story, we did Giovani's the first night on Serenade last month. I had politely told the dining room manager in advance that we would not be at our table that night, but would be with them the rest of the week. "No problem" he said, and apparently gave our assigned table away that night from what our table neighbors told us later on. We seated ourselves that next night, ordered some wine, and had a head waiter with a lot of attitude stride over and demand in not such a nice tone "Is this your assigned table?". Keeping my cool, I simply said.. "Hmm...let me check". Pulled out my card, showed him the number, then picked up the number on the table.. "Hey..it's a match!" I smiled at him. He was a tad taken down at that point...and tried to make an effort to be nice and check on us whenever possible after that. Found out later that the couple that were given that table on the first night had demanded to have that table for the rest of the week. Sheeeezz....
  9. We prefer approx. 8-10 rows back, and indeed center. As center as possible, which leaves less toes to be stepped on with pax moving across you from either end. 😉 But that is all subject to personal choice of course.
  10. And of course...that is for traditional dining only....not MTD.
  11. We just recently spent two weeks on little Serenade as a "test run". Also were able to inspect our two cabins for the two separate legs for WC. Detested the first one (assigned to us by NC on Odyssey)...but was quickly able to call GS and change it out. The second leg cabin was good. Since we are "single leggers"...had no opportunity to book a suite...not even a JS. Soooo we spent two weeks in a regular balcony last month to get used to the layout for WC. It ended up being just fine...and we got used to it. We will survive. 🙂
  12. Pinnies non suite not allowed in CL? We did not have access on Serenade either...was over the threshold of 30 for both weeks. The coffee machine on that ship was down a few times, and almost always out of milk for my Latte. 😞
  13. Ah...we did a switcheroo! We just finished B2B Serenade, now on to take your place on Jewel on Friday, then B3B on Voyager a week later, then back onto Jewel B2B with just 4 days in between. (And will be back to T#5 on that one). I remember you describing the parking at T#6...didn't you mention you were directed to the large surface lot behind the garage...and were able to prepay? Assuming the garage was already filled with Carnival pax vehicles...which I am guessing will be the case on Friday. Oh well, no different than Tampa I guess.
  14. Same set up on recent Serenade. Some days the featured sandwich was really good...some...meh.
  15. Yumms...the Tagliatelle is indeed good....though for some reason a bit spicy on recent Serenade.
  16. No, he and Laura were doing just the one cruise...to celebrate NYE. He will be departing just before we board.
  17. Bucky happened to have a white shirt while on Serenade a couple of weeks ago...he was right in there. Many pax were dressed in white. Me...duh...didn't think about it, had nothing in white. Have white blouse will travel now. 😉
  18. HI neighbor...will wave to you from next door at T#6 on Jewel. 🙂
  19. Another one that seems to be on every cruise now is white night. I finally bought a dressy white blouse...let the party begin. 😉
  20. Oh yeah, you and my Grandfather would have gotten along just great. My Grandma always saved the "bacon drippings" for him. 😉
  21. Ahh...an excuse to stay another day!! 😉 😄
  22. Always seems to be a dress code, tipping, chair hog thread somewhere. 😉 Simple fact is that indeed the dress code is now "suggested"...mostly as reason to be festive for people that like to dress up. They used to enforce it years ago, and would not let the gentlemen in without a suit coat (which some would provide). We used to always take tux, cocktail dress...now we don't (mostly to save room in the suitcase for our longer cruises). Now we are dress slacks, dress shirt, and dressy blouse. Which fits right in. The "formal nights" have gone the way of dressing up for a flight, going to a nice shoreside restaurant, etc....and don't even put that mental image in your head of how people dress to shop in Walmart. 😮
