Funny story, we did Giovani's the first night on Serenade last month. I had politely told the dining room manager in advance that we would not be at our table that night, but would be with them the rest of the week. "No problem" he said, and apparently gave our assigned table away that night from what our table neighbors told us later on.
We seated ourselves that next night, ordered some wine, and had a head waiter with a lot of attitude stride over and demand in not such a nice tone "Is this your assigned table?".
Keeping my cool, I simply said.. "Hmm...let me check". Pulled out my card, showed him the number, then picked up the number on the table.. "Hey..it's a match!" I smiled at him.
He was a tad taken down at that point...and tried to make an effort to be nice and check on us whenever possible after that.
Found out later that the couple that were given that table on the first night had demanded to have that table for the rest of the week. Sheeeezz....
