  1. Big "rock" in the background...but check out this huge iceberg floating along. I think it may be part of an ice shelf that broke away....and it has a partner that was following, along with an ice "debris" field. On the second one (which could simply be the second of one that was broken in half) there are many Penguins on the sloped side of it, though I could not pick it up with my crappy phone camera...I could see them (more than a 100) with the binoculars. Penguin cruise on the "Iceberg of the Seas". 😉
  2. Thanks my friend. And very happy so many are enjoying time here. 🙂
  3. Not in the strait any longer, but wow...we sure have some of these "growlers" still floating around out here in the open sea. Things are way bigger than the ship, and a whole lot more tonnage. They are allowed the right of way. 😄
  4. LOL...thanks! We have another cruise with another line booked in June, and a winery guest house just prior to that. Need my wine fix. 😉
  5. Current position. Heading to Elephant Island. Still really massive icebergs drifting around, both starboard and port side. And then to think you are only seeing a 10th of the total of that tonnage. Yikes!
  6. It's the exact same thing with Alaska...and much heavier cruise traffic.
  7. Oh wow....thank you soooo much for posting those pictures!! We are so much looking forward to the trip. Will be from Milwaukee to Nuuk for 5 weeks. Such a pretty ship! Love their "Hangar" barn door on the aft to launch their "toys". 🥰
  8. There were indeed a bunch of ships in there! Wow. Was enchanted to see both of Viking's Expedition ships in there at the same time. 🥰 Really looking forward to our time on Viking Octantis doing the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence Seaway, and NW passage next year. 33 nights. 🙂 Smaller ships, and are able to participate in their scientific experiments. They are both ice class rated. Thought the World Traveler was pretty cool as well! Never even knew she existed.
  9. though indeed the Eclipse was in there with us (actually a bit crowded with ships) I think that was actually "World Traveler" She has a dark blue hull. Had never heard of her...so I googled it. Very new ship, actually quite pretty. Elite all inclusive yacht style. She slipped around us while we were sitting in Paradise Bay. ifications of World Traveller Year of build 2022 / Age: 2 Flag state Madeira Builder WestSEA Shipyard (Viana do Castelo, Portugal) Class ice-strengthened expedition ship Building cost EUR 70 million (USD 80 million) Speed 16 kn / 30 km/h / 18 mph Length (LOA) 126 m / 413 ft Beam (width) 19 m / 62 ft Gross Tonnage 9934 gt Passengers 196 - 200 Crew 130 Decks 8 Cabins 98 Decks with cabins 3 Sister-ships World Adventurer, World Explorer, World Discoverer, World Navigator, World Seeker, World Voyager Christened by Theresa Scalzitti Owner Mystic Invest Holding via Mystic Cruises USA Operator Nicko Cruises, Atlas Ocean Voyages
  10. I assume so. We were just coming to a 70 point mark, I guess. Was not really keeping track of that. Was prepared to just give the blocks away, being a duplicate for Serenade, as we have all of the others from this ship. Then I saw how different and unique it was...so I am keeping it. 😉
  11. Indeed was told by booking rep at Viking that the EX ships sell out fast. We are currently on RCI World Cruise, having spent some time in Paradise Bay here in Antarctica. Longingly looking at both Polaris and Octantis as we sail by them inside the bay with us. Polaris had her Hangar door open with several rubber boats running around outside along the shoreline. Such pretty little ships! Really looking forward to our B2B on Octantis next year. 🥰
  12. Aw...thanks my friend! Couldn't have done it without your help. 😊
  13. Thanks...and no...he does not seem to mind. Gets kick out of it most times...as he is a bit of a camera ham. 😉
  14. Thanks...I am really enjoying this venture into the strait...we are now heading back out of Paradise Bay. Quite a few other smaller cruise ships in here.
  15. Thank you as well. I am doing what I can, but wish I were much more professional. 😳
  16. Once again...you are the king of photos. 😉 Me...I have only just learned to even post photos...and not doing a good job of it. Sigh....
  17. Arrived in Paradise bay. Just sitting here admiring and checking it out. Whale group just didn't want to really reveal themselves. Have a shot of the whale wake...that's about it. Little speed boat launched to collect ice in a net. They did not chip some from a berg...just dragged a net over little floating chunks...then had a devil of a time trying to drag the heavy load into the little boat. 😄
  18. Yes, we saw Polaris...they had the big rubber boats out of the "hanger" which is an opening on the aft. Then as we moved forward, we saw the bow towards us of Octantis. So cool to see them! Thanks!
  19. Oh wow!! Both of the Viking expedition ships are here close by!! We are on Octantis next year for 5 weeks going through Great Lakes, St. Lawrence Seaway, Greenland, and NW passage. Hope I see them when we pull around the corner!!
  20. The big ones are Nikon (I think are 10 x 50). My favorite little travel pair (that stay in our carry on bag at all times) are Steiner 10 X 26...but Bucky said don't get the American made ones if you get Steiner...only the German made ones.
