    Hello

I am now 11 days from sail date and should be able to now see my boarding pass and boarding time.  Where do I find that on the Princess website and/or the app?

    Thanks

Very soon when you open the APP, your Ocean Ready status will show Green lane or Blue lane along with your cabin assignment and a QR code which has not been asked for. During Covid you selected an arrival time, but that has been discontinued and you can arrive at the port to check in during the boarding period listed in your Travel Summary or on the APP.

Princess actually does has a Pandora shop

I was trying to let scx22 know the ‘charms’ they were probably talking about are no longer available and for clarification. The promo Princess bracelet I would say is a Pandora wanna be.

For what it's worth, the charm bracelet events might be worth going to because you actually get something physically in return for you attendance--the charm.  All you get at the acupuncture, Medi spa, spa, and fitness related seminars is a bunch of hot air from the presenter.  If you can bring along a sacrificial cute kid that the shopkeepers find adorable, you'll end up with a boatload of charms without having to go each and every event.  My friend's 5 year old daughter ended up with all of the charms, and more, on day 5 of a 14 day cruise.

Hi @SCX22, would you clarify which ‘charms’ you are referring?

Effy used to have a charm bracelet where you would collect a different charm at each of thier ‘events’. No purchase required. They would attach to the bracelet via a small lobster clasp.

Princess has since introduced it own charm bracelet which is a pseudo Pandora style bracelet, (charms slide onto the bracelet), where you buy a starter set of charms for $10, to get the ‘free’ bracelet, then buy the daily charm of the day, and if you collect all the $ ones, you are given the ‘Princess Sea Witch Charm’ as a gift.

As the Princess ‘charms’ actually cost $, I would not think the shop employees are very keen on giving these away to adorable children and are in the business of making sales of the charm starter set and subsequent charms.

Effy has discontinued its charm bracelet as to not compete/confuse with the Princess charm bracelet and now hands out little colored pendants for their ‘events’.

we are debating booking separate cruises to get the additional cruise credit.

Princess has updated their system awhile ago to recognize ‘segments’, so a 14 day cruise that can be booked a 2 seven day cruises , you will get ‘credit’ for each segment as the previous poster stated regarding his 14 day Alaska sailing, no matter how you book. So do not worry about booking separate segments to get the cruise credits. Do the math and determine which combination will net you the most benefits, in terms of packages and shareholders if applicable.

Can you still swap the elite mini bar for the coffee card; which is added to your medallion now.

No, coffee card no longer exists.  You will buy your coffees ala carte, as there is no longer a coffee pkg of 15 coffees for a set price. Only drink packages are offered which you need to buy for the entire voyage.

We are in the same "boat" here :).

Looking at my Captain Circle History/Future, it shows our upcoming 14 day (booked as single voyage) as 2 credits each. The 1st credit will put us at 15 completed after the 1st week. Would we get the Elite benefits on the 2nd half of the voyage?

Yes, visit the loyalty desk which is also Future cruises, as they handle both of these functions before the end of your first segment for them to verify.

They may have to manually ‘upgrade’ you on board, as your medallion was produced for your entire voyage not knowing the second segment you graduate to the next level. You may get a new medallion, or they may just place a ‘sticker’ on your old medallion to show the level change. They can order your minibar and provide you will the correct first day letter.

    Hi

Does the 45 day penalty free cancellation apply to cancelling before the date of the cruise or the date of the flight? I purchased a one way flight after the cruise to get home. The flight is more than 50 days away but my cruise is in 39 days. It's a flexible ticket that I already paid for. Can I cancel it without penalty?

Hi, I am pretty sure the terms and conditions for EZAir flexible fares are 45 day before cruise sail date OR flight date as some book flights a few days before cruise sail date, whichever is earliest.

Since your cruise is only 39 days away, I believe you are in penalty zone, call EZAir to verify.

That is rare and you have a good TA.  I wouldn't count on this to be the norm.  I could possibly see that a TA rebooked the cruise (but that would give you a new booking number).  Lucky you.

A FCD can be added to a sailing already booked with a deposit AND get the associated OBC, IF the FCD acquired date is BEFORE the booking date to satisfy the whole FUTURE issue.

Another scenario is, I am adding passenger2 to my solo booking I have already paid in full after final payment date. If passenger2 has a FCD that was acquired before my initial booking date, it can be added so they will receive the associated OBC for using a FCD. It will result in the booking having an overpayment, which is refunded to my credit card. If adding passenger2 to my solo booking before final payment, a FCD in their name can be added as long as the acquire date of that FCD is before the booking date and they will receive the appropriate OBC for using a FCD.

I have done this a few times when using one of my online TA booking sites on the weekend or evening when their office is closed and I want to grab a particular cabin or lock in a fare or sale. Their online booking engine does not have the capability of linking to Princess and applying a FCD from my Princess account, so a $100 deposit is usually charged to my credit card.

When their office reopens, I contact the agency and ask them to apply a FCD as long as I have one dated BEFORE my booking date, which I always try to have a few available, just in case. The FCD gets added to the booking and I receive the associated OBC. Yes, I now have double the amount of deposit $, but it is only $100.

When I first started cruising with Princess, the FCD’s were good for 4 years, then reduced to 2 years, and now only 1 year, but should be able to extend if you call before expiration date.

I am currently on Enchanted and spoke to the lead Consultant, and it was news to her about plans to discontinue allowing passengers to buy FCD’s for passengers NOT on board.  I will be back on Enchanted in a month and see if this is still the case.

Thanks.  We booked this cruise with a casino discount.  May not even play with no place for hubs to hang out.  Disappointing!

Please view the deck plan a little closer. Take 5 lounge AND Bar is literally ‘steps’ from the Casino floor and there is even a connecting door. Why would your hubs not be able to hang out in Take5 if you are in the Casino steps away?

If your turn around is at a U.S. port then you will have to go through immigration. No exceptions. This requirement is U.S. law. It does not matter how you booked. There is an easy process to do this. You will receive a letter in your cabin. Read and follow the instructions exactly.

One exception, I know of personally is the port of Whittier in Alaska.

B2B passengers from YVR going back to YVR from Whittier, do NOT go thru immigration/customs as you did this in YVR, so on turnaround day, you do not need to get off the ship.

@karatemom2, Princess updated its software many years ago to recognize segments, so if a sailing can be booked as smaller segments and you booked it as one longer single segment, you should receive a credit for ‘each’ segment. So a 21 day cruise, that could have been booked as 3 separate 7 day sailing, should still receive 3 credits minimum, more if sailing solo or in a suite. After booking, your cruise history should show future credits. If this is not reflected correctly, call Princess to see if there is an error. In rare instances, unless you booked separately, you would not receive the multiple credits, such as a Transpacific, from Sydney to the West Coast of North America that has a short segment Sydney to Auckland. The current Majestic sailing that just arrived SEA after first arriving YVR, from Sydney, had a stop in Auckland with passengers embarking/disembarking, but for those who booked Sydney to YVR, it was still considered ONE cruise credit. Elite passengers did NOT receive a new mini bar in Auckland, this would be your clue, it is not a true ‘segment’ for cruise credit counting.

I was wondering if I booked a future cruise onboard, are there any advantages to doing so?  For example, reduced deposit, OBC, etc.

    Thank you.

Please see if you can find the ‘other’ recent thread regarding this same topic.

Future cruise deposits on Princess are good for 1 year from purchase date, but should be able to extend expiration if you call before expiring. You can also request  refund before the year is up. FCD’s are fully refundable, so really a no lose situation. You need to purchase for each passenger and will apply to a future booking per passenger.

Since the new 3rd party company Princess has contracted with to handle Future cruises on board about January 2023, they have had a ‘list’ of sailings usually within the next 90-100 days, that are on additional discount(25-50%). These must be booked on board as the special pricing is not available once you leave the ship.

There may be a few sailings beyond the 90-100 days.

Does anywhere on the ship have the Crooner's bar menu, with amaretto Manhattans?

There is a current live from Majestic, post your question on that thread, as they are good at replying to questions.

I just took the leap and booked a Cabana mini-suite.  The total was $570 for two ($400 deposit that converts to OBC plus $70 port fees).  I see the following in the travel summary:

Does this mean we got the Premier package as well?!?!?

    Yes!

Thanks. The event list from Embarkation day showed lunch in Botticelli and today's list showed lunch and breakfast in Botticelli and also in Da Vinci for Reserve Collection. Never remember them using 2 dining rooms for breakfast and lunch.

I believe Princess has started using 2 dining rooms because ‘Reserve Collection’ is usually at deck6 midship restaurant. It seems some ships have moved breakfast and lunch to the aft deck6 dining room for everyone else. I asked about this last year and was told the aft deck6 dining room is larger.

@wallyj  Sorry but this is incorrect.  Passengers 1&2 both have to buy the package if one wants it, regardless of age. The underage passenger would get the zero alcohol package but the price would be same to include crew appreciation and wifi.  That’s why it was suggested to have both adults in one room.

@t&atravel, thank you for the correction, my mind got a little mixed up and was think about Royal Caribbean which would allow minor to purchase Refreshment package. Princess bundles currently seem to be better priced than competitors that offer a ‘bundle’.

  16. Guest services will be able to program your Medallions to unlock/open the other cabin, so easy peasy. Do not understand previous comment as the way you have currently booked sharing parent with son would be the way to have the ‘adults’ buy plus and not have passenger2 as they are under 21, the drinking age for Princess.

Your current booking would also be a way for both cabins to get shareholders if the account was in both names of the parents, if you happen to be shareholders of CCL stock.

Do you have the latest version/update of the APP? Try deleting then re installing the latest version. Also if you have older phone, it could be an issue, but the APP works fine on my Android phone and iPad that is a few years old, not the latest version.

I have a Future Cruise Deposit for each member of the family but they expire on 1st July 2024. We plan to book an Alaska cruise for summer 2026 but I think those bookings don't open until later in July 2024. Anyone know of a clever way we can use these FCD or have I just missed that window of opportunity?

    Many thanks in advance!

Call to see if you can get the expiration date extended. I was told Princess is still allowing this to be done, especially as FCD’s now expire in 1 year.

Also, if you know anyone currently on a Princess sailing, they can purchase FCD’s for each of your family members. They will have to pay for them, so usually only done by people who know each other well enough, knowing they will be paid back.

I saw this on a video review recently and it was held in Vines on the Sapphire on a sea day.

When the Sapphire first started having Ocean Terrace sushi, they did do it in Vines. Because Vines is so limited in seating, they changed to use the overflow/side area of Alfredo’s and will use Vines and regular seating in Alfredo’s as needed.

On my March 2024 sailing, it appeared they were allowing patrons to order sushi or  Pizza on sea days when Ocean Terrace was being offered no matter where you were seated in Alfredo’s.

Do you know the dinning room for Reserve Collection on Enchanted? I want to make reservations so I am able to have the same table every night. Thank  you! I cannot find this information anywhere.

You do not make reservations for Reserve Collection. It is supposed to be no wait, but at peak times, maybe a slight wait, this is the ‘perk’ of reserve collection. Usually deck 6, midship dining room,  port side.

Thanks for your answers everyone - Alfredo’s & Vines on Sapphire - the dining PDF that T&ATravel shared is great

On the Sapphire, they also have Ocean Terrace as a casual dining option for the Sushi set menu, no customization on sea days, which will be held at a section of Alfredo’s. Only during lunch hours of 12-1:30. They will have a display/sample of what the ‘set’ looks like in a case in front of Alfredo’s during the time it is offered.

What I mean by no customization, on Discovery Princess, they allow me to have all shrimp(ebi) nigiri which is the protein in a rice ball, instead of the salmon and tuna. Also I could substitute California Roll instead of the Spicy Tuna Maki/Roll that is part of the ‘set’ menu.
