  1. Yes, on Discovery earlier, Oct 2023, could get unlimited any flavor gelato at the Gelato bar. On Emerald in August and told no, only included gelato available was on lido deck where they made the Premium Sundaes. So it depends on ship.
  2. @cruzrbachouahave you gone to the next step like @_rusty_shacklefordhas reported at check out the price corrects to the current rates, so the initial price shown is most likely an error? Currently the new APP does not show all bookings and access is only via booking number for now to see you other bookings.
  3. @reedprincessand @jagoffee, there is the 51 day So America Adventure on Majestic Princess LA to FLL on Dec 1, 2024 and the 54 Roundtrip LA So Pacific , Australia and New Zealand, March 13, 2026. Island Princess. Sorry, the Majestic is sold in segments, but the Island is not and for 54 days.
  4. There is a thread started Dec 27? Titled ‘Captain Circle Tiers’, someone posted loyalty program changes to be announced within the month. Of course, this could be just ‘talk’, which is why I said ‘rumor’.
  5. Personally, I prefer one of the mid ship dining rooms because usually less motion and vibration. The Deck6 aft dining room is the largest and on some Royal class ships, it is now the designated dining room for breakfast, and sea day lunch and only accessible via stairs from deck 7 aft or aft elevators. Reserve class will usually remain at mid ship dining room. Depending on where your stateroom is located may also factor into which dining room is most convenient for you.
  6. $7.50/day for one device if you are purchasing for whole cruise, else platinum/elite rate is $10/day for any 24hr period.
  7. Unlimited. Subject to changes in program as rumor has it changes to be announced within the month? Also subject to turnaround processing. My last 18 day sailing, last day to submit laundry was morning of 3 days before end of cruise.
  8. @etphonehome24, I just got off the Sapphire and was on the Sapphire last June for a roundtrip Vancouver Alaska sailing. For Alaska, the photographers will also roam the decks during Glacier viewing days to snap photos of passengers with the scenery in the background. Inside they will have various ‘backgrounds’ setup on Deck 7, by Crooners, across from Explorers lounge, across from the Internet cafe by the photo studio desk and the Elevator lobby of the midship elevators. They will also use the elevator lobby of mid ship elevators on deck 6 and the staircase in the Piazza on formal nights. They will also be taking photos of those pouring onto the Champagne tower on Captains welcome formal night. Usually all background location will be setup on the first formal night. Other nights some locations may not be used and or closed as the photographer is roaming the dining rooms or on a break.
  9. The ships photo studio will have different backgrounds setup usually every evening. There will be setups at each port usually at arrival times and they will also take photos in the dining room during formal nights, so there will be many opportunities to ‘pose’ for pictures. The portrait studio known as the Platinum Studio is a separate studio for Black and white and is a separate package. You have to setup a reservation for a sitting at the Platinum Studio, no fee and no obligation to purchase, examples of Platinum studio pictures will be on display. Platinum studio will produce a slide show of pictures taken for you to choose and prints are done off site and mailed to you in a few weeks.
  10. @Ken the cruiser, Princess used to have a price match and the 26 Glacier tour was one I remember past passengers would use. No more price match. I would book direct to save some $.
  11. As long as you have booked ‘flexible’ rate fare. 45 days is calculated by flight date or cruise sail date, which ever is sooner/earlier as many passengers elect to fly in many days before sail date.
  12. IIRC, Celebrity tried this a few years ago and all their fares included a drinks package, etc. Even though we have heard a large percentage of passengers elect to get at least the Plus package, Celebrity had to bring back ‘standard’ fares, so it would surprise me if Princess drops the option for a ‘no frills’ fare. It appears that percentage of passengers who would not use all the included amenities, was a large enough group for Celebrity to not want to lose, so no frills fares were again offered.
  13. Yes, to both questions. IIRC, in the changing rooms on most Royal class ships, there are 2 showers, one for accessibility needs. I believe the lockers work by keyless self set combination locks. I have not seen key on a wristband on Princess for many years, especially on Royal class, since fitness center is not by Spa, so no reception to get a locker key.
  14. There is an earlier thread titled ‘Is upgrading to Reserve Collection mini suite worth the additional charges?’ Currently on page 3 that you should probably review.
  15. Full suite get complimentary 1st night(embarkation) in a Specialty Restaurant . Some ships allow them to switch it to another night. You can have Concierge in lounge change if your ship has lounge, else call dine line or go to Specialty venue on embarkation to confirm or change if possible/allowed.
  16. If you are trying to use the coupon in the Princess book, you only need to ‘play’ $20, whether you win or lose is not the point of qualifying for the coupon. Sometimes the cashier will not even check if you have gambled at least $20, but you are mistaken believing you need to lose $20 before you can get the $10 free play coupon added .
  17. At some ports for various reasons, if you do not have your medallion and it was to be shipped to you, you may be issued a cruise card to be exchanged at guest services for your medallion, which can entail a long line on the first day.
  18. Are you all in the same cabin with one booking number? If so, then probably yes. If they are in an adjacent cabin with a separate booking number then , no if they are on standard fare.
  19. I did Syd to La on the Majestic and the on board currency was the USD so assume your Syd to YVR sailing is when the on board currency will change over to USD.
  20. @cruise_critical, thank you for your reply. You would think they would allow request for California roll which is basically the Spicy tuna roll without the added toppings. When I was on the Sapphire earlier this month, I asked if I could get all Ebi nigiri and was told No. On Sapphire the sushi is probably made in the kitchen for Vivaldi, whereas on most Royal class ships, made in front of you at Ocean Terrace. On Discovery late October, they allowed all Ebi and allowed request for California roll, another passenger reported they would also do veggie roll request for plus or premier package use.
  21. Is the Royal allowing substitution/customization as in can you request all Ebi nigiri and or California roll instead of the spicy tuna roll?
  22. @john5325, have you called in again to check if you were initially given incorrect amount to add passenger2 to your solo booking. My experience with Princess solo bookings where I paid a 100% solo supplement, adding passenger2 only incurred the additional amount of the taxes and fees. As a solo you also paid ‘double’ the amount for your upgrade bid, so it does not make sense why you were quoted more to add passenger2 than just the taxes and fees. Having a successful upgrade bid might have complicated your fare, so your situation probably requires special handling as @wen_c82has commented.
  23. Maki refers to the ‘type’ of sushi and translates to ‘roll’. Just like nigiri is the type of sushi where you have a rice ball with usually some sort of protein on top. For reference see post #2 which was the original Ocean Terrace menu which allowed more customization but seems Princess has transitioned to a ‘set’ menu and your ‘maki’ is the spicy tuna roll. The new menu does not mention you have a choice for your ‘maki’, where the first rollout you had a choice of 4 pieces of up to 2 different maki choices for a total of 8 roll pieces. @Cruise Raiderhas reported being able to custom order on the Discovery from a few weeks ago. California roll is tradionally made with crab(usually imitation on Princess), avocado and cucumber. She mentioned hers might have been custom made with shrimp, or she mistook the imitation crab for shrimp?
  24. Captains Club is the name of the loyalty program for Celebrity cruises. Princess is Captains Circle. There have been past threads regarding this issue and Princess has no incentive to do this at this time. Many thought a new tier would have been introduced with the restart.
  25. It appears for the ‘set’ if you are using a package, it is a fixed menu but on the Discovery in October, they let my customize as I was able to request my nigiri to be all ebi(shrimp) and my maki roll to be California roll which is basically, avocado, cucumber and crab(imitation), so no ‘raw’ per se. If you are ordering ala carte, there are non raw items, veggie rolls, etc.
