  1. Since you booked an infinite veranda, you won’t have a balcony. You will have a window that opens. Nor is there a good table in the room to use for room service dining.
  2. Not easier to call when you live in Ireland…..
  3. The changes from Amsterdam to Rotterdam for some cruises’ arrivals and departures was due to some construction work that was being done. Perhaps that project will go on hold now, but it is likely that River Cruises will continue to sail from Amsterdam so it is possible that the construction will need to to be completed for them.
  4. I don’t believe the passengers have any access to the loyalty team office. You have to go through the Captains Club and since you are in Ireland I will not suggest a phone call to them in your case
  5. Sorry that you have gambled and lost and I hope he does well, but you are most probably out of luck. All you can do is ask but be prepared for a “no”. A few cruisers have reported some compassionate pricing, but most are simply out the money for the cruise
  6. The OP wants to go over and back in a short time frame. That’s the difficulty
  7. If you look at your account on the television it should clearly say that the onboard credit is either R refundable or N nonrefunable. The retreat concierge or guest services can also answer this question for you
  8. Other ships may be nicer and other itineraries may be better, but between Apex and silhouette (the two choices the OP is considering) Sillhouette is better for its Sky Lounge and its childrens area and its traditional balconies
  9. When it is served plated there is a meat and cheese plate, a fruit plate, a pastry plate, a bagel & salmon & cream cheese plate. Also two or three smoothies, juices, coffee drinks, teas, mimosas, bloody mary’s and bellinis. No eggs or hot foods.
  10. Today is the 20th. Do you think we’ll see any news about this issue?
  11. My point is that there are a few “one size fits all” options. Your bad idea might be someone else’s good idea.
  12. I think he must’ve missed something there are two this year. The beyond has a 14 day Crossing ending in Fort Lauderdale and the constellation has a 16 day Crossing ending in Tampa. Where do you see a 13 day Crossing? Which ship?
  13. The arrival time at 11:30 indicates to me that perhaps this ship transfer involves a tour of some sort? If so, then you will probably be leaving the ship around 8 AM, with a two- or three-hour tour. Is that the case in the transfer you are considering?
  14. What time is the flight? some things to consider when choosing the self Disembark option — They request that you be the first passengers off, and many start lining up as early as 6:30 am — You need to be able to move all your luggage by yourself with no assistance from the ships staff — It is not appropriate for people with mobility issues
  15. Virgin doesn’t precisely do a status match. Elite, Elite Plus and zenith all get the same benefit.
  16. Well yes, but you earned the points on the first cruise so you got the new status on the second one. Normally it takes about a week to ten days for the new status to register but the Captains Club host can speed that up in the case of a back to back they can get it done in time for the second cruise. What doesn’t happen is this……if you are on a ten day cruise and you acquire sufficient point for the new level on the fifth day, you don’t get the new level during that cruise. The new level will come on your next cruise.
  17. I have seen this reported on certain Alaska cruises. Have you seen reports of this for Cruises elsewhere?
  18. I don’t think your shore side concierge can charge things to your on board credit. You have to go into your booking and put in the order yourself.
  19. You can’t set any OBC aside for any specific use. You just start putting things on your account and as long as there is OBC to offset it they use the OBC, nonrefundable first then refundable.
  20. In the cruising world, “tips” “gratuities” and “service charges” are used interchangeably.
