best solstice class balcony room

There is an sticky on top of this page where 'library lady' keeps an updated spreadsheet with notes on cabins of the S-class ships.

But I would say the angled balconies of the "hump cabins" would be the most favorite, because they are larger then the other balconies in the same category. The first and third on the angle are the largest on the rear angle. The second and fourth on the forward angle. The hump cabins are the ones that bump out.

I have copied all the numbers from a current post.

Resort Deck: 2105, 2109, 2106 & 2110

Penthouse Deck: 1547, 1552, 1601, 1605, 1606, & 1610

Sky Deck: 1075, 1044, 1231, 1243, 1247, 1108, 1120 & 1124

Panorama Deck: 9155, 9192, 9209, 9215, 9237, 9241, 9266, 9270, 9292 & 9296

Vista Deck: 8197, 8160, 8257, 8253, 8230, 8226, 8279, 8283, 8252 & 8256

Sunrise Deck: 7159, 7206, 7215, 7219, 7241, 7245, 7260, 7264, 7286 & 7290

Continental Deck: 6155, 6156, 6209, 6215, 6237, 6241, 6210, 6214, 6236 & 6240

Be aware though that the lifeboats can be quite obstructive in the view downwards. Even on deck 7.

In the Concierge and Aqua class a footstool will be provided with the lounger chair.

Not Soltice class but on the Summit that has been solsticized.

Cabin 9100 has a angled balcony and it must be a good location because it is next to a suite.

I think that and those similar have to be the worse balconies and should be have a disclaimer and sold as a partial balcony with a obstructed view. They are worse now because those suites in the middle have had a balcony added since the refurb.

Here is info I have from a 2011 post:

Here is an updated list of non-suite staterooms with nearly triple sized balconies:

Resort Deck: 2105, 2109, 2106, 2110

Penthouse Deck: 1547, 1552, 1601, 1605, 1606, 1610

Sky Deck: 1075, 1044, 1231, 1243, 1247, 1108, 1120, 1124

Panorama Deck: 9155, 9192, 9209, 9215, 9237, 9241, 9266, 9270, 9292, 9296

Vista Deck: 8197, 8160, 8257, 8253, 8230, 8226, 8279, 8283, 8252, 8256

Sunrise Deck: 7159, 7206, 7215, 7219, 7241, 7245, 7260, 7264, 7286, 7290

Continental Deck: 6155, 6156, 6209, 6215, 6237, 6241, 6210, 6214, 6236, 6240

The staterooms that are also on the slanted portion of the hump, but not listed above have nearly double sized balconies.

Be advised that the some of the staterooms on this list on the Continental Deck have partially obstructed balconies (2C Category - i.e. Stateroom #6240) and some fully obstructed (2D category - i.e. Stateroom #6210). The 2C obstruction involves seeing a life boat when looking straight down, but no obstruction when looking outwards or to the left or right.

Also be advised that some of the Penthouse Deck staterooms have a small obstruction from window washing equipment (1547 and 1552 as well as the nearly double sized staterooms next to them - 1549 and 1554; 1549 and 1554 are a bit more obstructed than 1547 and 1552).

Info same as Waihekean posted

Just off the Eclipse and we really enjoyed our balcony room 6224. It was right in the middle of the hump, not one of the larger, angled balconies, but it had a much less obstructed view than most of the angled balcony rooms which looked down on top of life boats. Also, I don't think I would like the lack of privacy with the angled balconies because while you can see all the way up or down the ship, everyone else up or down the ship can see you also.

When you looked directly down from our balcony, you saw about 3 feet deep and 8 balconies wide of the teak deck outside Cafe del Bacio. We were worried about a lack of privacy from that public area below but had complete privacy except when standing right at the railing and even then, never saw anyone look UP at us :) When booking again, I would definitely book these rooms again, 6th, 7th, or 8th floors.

The first and third on the angle are the largest on the rear angle. The second and fourth on the forward angle. The hump cabins are the ones that bump out.

I'm a little confused by this statement as I thought it was the 1st & 3rd for the front and the rear, IF YOU COUNT FROM THE HUMP. Of course if you count from the front of the angle to the hump on the front side then I guess it would be the 2nd & 4th.

I guess it's all in how you look at it.

I am not sure "best" always means "largest" when it comes to a balcony. I think people should ask first, "What do I value in a cruise stateroom?" Do i want ot be more forward? by an elevator? aft? How much do I value privacy? etc

For us, the furnature is important. A standard size balcony is large enough for the two of us. We enjoy sitting on the balcony in the morning with coffee, relaxing in the afternoon at sea or looking at the port, since my wife is a birder, some extra balcony time looking at birds, even looking at stars at night.

I think having a foot rest is more important (cc and aq class) than having a deep balcony.

Here's a thumbnail that shows the regular and angled balcony size. It is the 1st & 3rd off the hump going in either direction as shown that are the largest.

The cut/paste that everyone uses is the 'largest" of the balconies. It's a little misleading because the other two alternate staterooms on the angle that aren't listed in the cut/paste are equally as desirable. They are only shorter in depth by a foot or so. The thumbnail gives you a good idea of the size.

On Reflection is the room numbers the same? I ask because I understand that there is an extra deck.

We will be on the Reflection in Feb, looking forward to our first time on X.:)

No, they are different, at least from Deck 11 up. Go on the celebrity website and look at the deck plans. The angled balconies are always the same size whether on deck 6 or on deck 11/12.

I think the best "bargain" balcony cabins on S-class are the 1A's. In fact, they are in such demand that when we were onboard Silhouette last week and my Mom decided (rather last minute) to join us, they were priced higher than AQ cabins. She got the best of both worlds...she snagged an angled hump AQ cabin with one of the humongous balconies.
