snooze like a norwegian Posted October 6, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2016 (edited) Just received an email from my travel agent. It said Oasis was currently safe and sailing from St Maarten right now toward Fort Lauderdale. Said the Oasis should arrive to port on time. I'm not sailing until 10/15, and am not worried and the group out on 10/8 should be fine. Hope all is well on this current Oasis sailing though! My friends Disney cruise to set sail yesterday was cancelled. Edited October 6, 2016 by snooze like a norwegian
textbookcase Posted October 6, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2016 We are on the same sailing you are. I'm more concerned that Mathew may loop back around and smack Florida again, as some models are forecasting!
snooze like a norwegian Posted October 6, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted October 6, 2016 (edited) I think we will be fine! European model has it going out to sea and if it does loop back, it will be gone by Saturday, October 15. I feel so sorry for anyone affected by this hell of a storm. snooze like a norwegian Posted October 6, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted October 6, 2016 It was so weird too. I was just randomly thinking about how Oasis was doing, where she was, etc. And out of the blue, I got the email with information.
textbookcase Posted October 6, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 6, 2016 I didn't get an email! Prayers to all who are in Mathew's path. This is not a storm to take lightly.

slvrbllt Posted October 7, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 7, 2016 Thanks zippee! My parents are onboard with you and it's been so quiet about Oasis, so I was taking that as good news along with the "cyber stalking" i've been doing of the ship position :)
Ken Greco Posted October 7, 2016 #11 Share Posted October 7, 2016 As long as the hurricane stays out to sea we should be fine. Nassau did take a direct hit and there is no way an cruise ship will stop there for up to many weeks before the island can take cruise ship passengers again; pray for the people of the Bahamas. The October 15th itinerary will change possibly stopping in Key West or other ports. I am disappointed about Nassau but the lives of the Bahamian people is more important than me sitting on a beach
OOSiete Posted October 7, 2016 #12 Share Posted October 7, 2016 I'm watching the Allure webcams, apparently from Labadee. Appears to be sunny and calm in the aqua theater view.http://www.royalcaribbean.com/multimedia/webcam/ship.do?shipCode=AL&cameraLocation=%2Fcontent%2Fshared_assets%2Fwebcam%2FAL%2FGallery_1.jpg--AquaTheater. rucruisn2 Posted October 7, 2016 #13 Share Posted October 7, 2016 We live in Boynton Beach, a little north of Ft. Lauderdale. Hurricane was a no show for us, thankfully. So the port should be fine. Hope those north of us came thru this fine.
Canadian Tyler Posted October 7, 2016 #14 Share Posted October 7, 2016 From this website http://www.royalcaribbean.com/beforeyouboard/itineraryUpdates.do We will be delaying departure times for these sailings to give guests more time to arrive to the ship. New departure times are:Oasis of the Seas sailing from Port Canaveral on Saturday, October 8, will now depart at 7:00 p.m. Port Canaveral? Wonder if that's an error. coloradoSunshine Posted October 8, 2016 #15 Share Posted October 8, 2016 With delayed departure on Oasis, think we can still board and show up at port at same time? Around 11am-ish? Too bad we didn't know about possible delay yesterday when we were scrambling to rebook our cancelled flight... marshame Posted October 8, 2016 #16 Share Posted October 8, 2016 From this website http://www.royalcaribbean.com/beforeyouboard/itineraryUpdates.do Port Canaveral? Wonder if that's an error. Looks like they fixed it! It now says on the RC website: "Oasis of the Seas sailing from Port Everglades on Saturday, October 8, will now depart at 7:00 p.m."
Bsea2 Posted October 8, 2016 #17 Share Posted October 8, 2016 Confirmed with RC, website stating Oasis departing from Port Canaveral is an error. Still Port Everglades but 7p is correct.
JMHappy Posted October 8, 2016 #18 Share Posted October 8, 2016 The RCCL agent told me we can't board the ship until 7 PM. It clearly says on website "departs" at 7 PM. I hung up and called back again....they said we can't BOARD until 7 PM! I asked for it in writing because I'm not getting emails or text messages with updates. Has anyone else heard anything different.
RCI_TechNerd Posted October 8, 2016 #19 Share Posted October 8, 2016 (edited) According to a reply Royal Caribbean posted to their facebook page at 9:19 PM yesterday, the Oasis of the Seas will start boarding at 12:30 PM, which is standard boarding time. Facebook post and RCI reply: I am on this sailing, the Oct 8 sailing. So, I am planing on the terminal opening around the standard time. We shall see. 7 PM departure from Port Everglades is logical given the possibility of travel delays due to Hurricane Matthew. On the face of it, 7PM boarding would be insane. Although I am familiar with the wildly inconsistent and incorrect phone support that RCI provides. Biker19 Posted October 8, 2016 #21 Share Posted October 8, 2016 None of those mention boarding time - just delayed departure due to delays in folks getting to the port, which is understandable.
