Radiance - Cabin 8600 (Balcony)?

If you are talking about the December 4th sailing, move up in category to a Category D1 Cabin........should only cost you about $100.00 total to make the switch.

Either move to Cabin #9094 near the Centrum elevator or Cabin #9258 or Cabin # 9660, the last 2 cabins I mentioned are on the aft and face the wake and both have huge balconies.

Even the first cabin i mentioned has a huge balcony also, just depends if you want midship or aft depending how much walking you want to do back and forth to the cabin.........the view of the wake though is awesome and well worth the walk.

Good luck with whatever you decide......

We will be sailing on December 4, 2005.

So the end of the hump makes the balcony smaller?

Yes, Makes it very tiny......you can walk no more then a step in a half to hit the balcony railing forward and about 1 step right and left and hit the dividers between cabins.

No problem your welcome, just remember since I mentioned those cabins as available if someone else on this board cruising the same week on the same ship they may see it a grab one of those cabins.

Most likely not but you never know.

Good Luck !

I did some quick checking on your cruise, and I agree, 8600 does have a small balcony. If you wish to stay with the same catagory of rooms, 8544, 8044, 8666 and 8166 are still available and all have decent sized balconies (larger than the normal E2). If you don't mind spending a few more dollars per person, catagory D1 still has some wonderful balconies available - 8168 and 8170.(price really wasn't much higher) AND....the ever popular Junior Suite 1100 is still up for grabs.............these are only a few I checked, I'm sure there are plenty more great balconies just waiting for you. The price on that cruise is excellent by the way! Enjoy...........:)

Thanks so much, any more information on the casino poker games on the Radiance?

Thanks to all. We have moved our room to 9094. Our Friends are staying in 9096. If anyone has pictures with either of these rooms, it would be appreciated if you can share them.

Thanks

If you don't mind the hike, this is a great cabin. Since it is "off the beaten path" it is quiet. The balconey is very large for its class - since it is at the end. The far back end of it even kind of "wraps" a bit out so that you can get a different vantage point.

Would love to see pictures of that balcony. #8666.....have any to share? I think though if I was going to take a cabin so far to the back though an aft facing cabin facing the wake might be the better way to go.

Onessa, we just booked this same cabin (8666) on the Jewel. I'm a little concerned because I'm thinking there might be some superstructure from the ship. Can you give me any input on this please? Also, do you remember how many chairs/loungers the balcony had on it? (There are 3 of us.) Any digital pics to share? Thanks so much for any advice you can give me. This is our first balcony cabin, so I'm a little nervous that I've picked a good one. On our first cruise (just earlier this month), we had an interior dungeon, so I'm really looking forward to a balcony next time. :D

Ah HA. We just booked 8600 on the Radiance. The wife gives me grief for doing too much research... . It looks like Royal Carribean has changed cabins 8600 and 8590 to an E3 class. I have the 2003 Alaska brochure, and these cabins were colored red for E2. In the 2004 brochure, they are the light purple color for E3. Cabins 8600 and 8590 are now the only E3s on Deck 8. The smaller balcony would explain why. So for anyone considering an E3 balcony on deck 7. You can get one of two 'hump' E3 balconys on deck 8 for the same price. It's a smaller balcony, but it is the bump, and you avoid the view of the water issues the covers above the life rafts pose, as well as the potential for drunken sailor men crawling along this cover at any given time of the day.

No pictures - standard number of chairs, but talk to your room steward he may be able to rustle up another. The window washing equipment was stored nearby but did not obstruct our view.

The balcony is longer, it just swoops off a bit narrowing as it goes. FYI - The pullman is over the beds if I remember correctly.

Just booked cabin 9610 on Brillance for December 12th 2005. Wondering if this is a good location . I am hoping for a jr suite to open up.. i will be calling everyday to check. This is an 11 nite panama costa rica aruba and curacao itinerary. Very excited to see these ports. Has anyone done this sailing or had this cabin ? Is it worth extra money to upgrade from D-1 to JS?? How much extra should I expect to pay if one becomes available? Thanks
