In honor of Stevie 17's mega list of his top 50 cruising songs listed in an earlier post, let’s see who has the best top 10. Only rule is you can use an artist only once on your list... sorry all you parrot-heads, gotta pick your best Buffett.

We're cruising on Caribbean Princess on June 19 to the Western Caribbean....ooohhhh I cant wait. Here's my list to get it started:

10. Love Boat Theme - Barry White

9. Walking on Sunshine – Katrina and the Wave

8. Celebrate - Kool and The Gang

7. Piano Man – Billy Joel

6. Tequila – Los Lobos

5. Sweetest Thing - U2

4. Dancing in the Moonlight - Van Morrison

3. Back in Love Again - LTD

2. The Weather is Here Wish You Were Beautiful - Jimmy Buffett

1. One Love - Bob Marley

Happy cruising to everyone!

And to wind it up w/some songs from my parents' era:

Don't know if I can come up with 10, but let's see

Havana Daydreaming - Jimmy Buffett

I Can See Clearly Now - Johnny Nash

Montego Bay - Bobby Bloom (not sure if that name is right)

Three Little Birds - Bob Marley

In The Summertime - Mungo Jerry

Sailing To Paradise - Pablo Cruise

Banana Boat Song (Day-O) - Harry Belafonte

Barbados - Poco

Yellowbird - Many artists, pick one! I like Arthur Lyman

Red, Red Wine - UB 40

OK, that was much easier than I thought it would be, the hard part was narrowing it down to 10!

I like Host Kristi's list! (except the Ketchup song)

I'd have to replace it with I think it's called, Dollar Wine. ("Cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, Dolla'!) The first time I heard it was on a PRINCESS CRUISE!

I like ALL SONGS by Jimmy Buffett too.

Another Kenny Chesney song called: "On the Coast of Somewhere Beautiful."

"Buffalo Soldier", Bob Marley (If I have to choose one)

"Tequila!"

"Kokomo" The Beach Boys

"Margaritaville" Jimmy Buffet

"Sye Bwa" and "Zouk la se l'medicament" Kassav' (Creole group from Martinique and Guadeloupe)

"No Money, No Love" and "Dan Is The Man (In The Van)" Mighty Sparrow (a legendary artist from Trinidad)

The steeldrum melodies played by Deep Blue... I don't know the titles.. damn!

"Hot! Hot! Hot!" Buster Poindexter even if starts to get on my nerves after a while.

"Me Gusta tu" Manu Chao

"Cazon de Mariachi" sung by Antonio Banderas with Los Lobos.

"Come Sail Away" Styx

"Guantanamera" by Celia Cruz

"Tropicalia" Beck

"Essa Moça Ta Differente" by Flavio Faria (Brazilian song, was used by a drink commercial and hit it BIG in Europe, you have to find that song. It's just pure beach feeling)

"La Lune Opale" and "Samba de mon coeur qui bat" Coralie Clement (a French singer who listened to too much Brazilian Music).

"Carnaval de Sao Vicente" Cesaria Evora

"La baie" Etienne Daho (another french artist)

"The Girl From Ipanema" Antonio Carlos Jobim, Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto

"Tamure Tahiti" Never knew the name of the group who performed it.

"Tahiti, Tahiti" by Kapena (an Hawaian group, love it!)

"Isa Lei" It's the Fijian farewell song. Never knew who sung it.

"Jisas Yu Hand Blong Mi" - "God Yu Tekkem Laef Blong Mi" - Choir of All Saints. It's a choir from the Solomon Islands and they are religious songs. It's a typical Melanesian choral-style of singing. Not that it would put you in a mood to party but it is so beautiful and so evocative of the South Pacific islands.

And of course: the "Love Boat" song!

Maybe some others will come to mind... (Yeah, I'm a music fan ;) )

a few that I'd like to add - most of the above are wonderful - you are all getting me into the cruise mood:

Mambo #5 Lou Bega

Bailamos Enrique Iglesias

Livin Lavida Loca Ricky Martin

And I know this is breaking the rule of the original poster, but I'd have to say "anything Beach Boys".
