BBMacLaird Posted September 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2017 I think a musical playlist is a great way to prepare for exploring new places! So not only reading lists but a musical playlist help us learn and get excited. Here's a quote from our current blog entitled "The Ultimate World Music Playlist" "Our 2018 World Journey visits 60 ports in 29 countries, offering ample opportunity to discover not only the sights, but also the sounds of some of the world’s most amazing destinations. To prepare for this 102-day voyage we’ve compiled a playlist that highlights musical genres and styles of some destinations we’ll be calling on. Take a look—and a listen!" https://www.azamaraclubcruises.com/int/blog/ultimate-world-music-playlist

I'll have to get my daughters to explain Spotify to me so I can play it.
Grandma Cruising Posted September 30, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2017 Great idea. The music descriptions could include Traditional jazz for the USA, gypsy violin music for the Baltic region, reggae for Jamaica ( or steel bands for the Caribbean as a whole), didgeridoo music for Australia. excitedofharpenden Posted September 30, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2017 Great idea! I'll never forget my very first sailaway from Venice. I was on Celebrity Millennium at the Oceanview Bar and as we left and passed St Mark's Square the guitarist played the Banana Boat Song. I kid you not. Phil
