Vista Feb 4, 2018 unavailable or sold out?

I posted a similar question on the roll call for this sailing, but thought there might be more answers here. I'm booked on the Vista, February 4, 2018 (Superbowl Sunday). Since my fare rate is the early saver with price protection, I've been checking prices often, and even got some OBC a little while back.

 

Since the weekend the cruise just dropped off the website. I can't find it when I search for cruises, I had a link saved to the cruise which no longer works, and also tried the Fare Viewer. I can choose the Vista and Feb 4, but then it tells me "no rates available for your selections", no matter which cabin style I select. I also checked travel websites and it's not available there either.

 

Does anyone know why this is? Would the cruise be sold out already, even though the last I looked there was a wide selection of cabins available? Is this just a glitch? I'm not concerned about my booking as I still have the booking visible in my Carnival account. Just curious why the cruise would seem to disappear.

One guess is that it has been chartered, but I am responding to bump your question to the top, hoping others will have ideas.

I just looked at the TA site and it says sold out. That said, it does not list the reason it is sold out.....

I may end up calling Carnival at some point, as my brother and his wife were considering joining us but figured they had time to make the decision. That may not be an option now, but worth calling in case there is still some availability.

I called Carnival and the cruise is in fact sold out. I had no idea they would sell out so far in advance!

That seems odd, keep checking though cause some may cancel, especially just before final payment is due!

This is a Super Bowl cruise. A lot of groups are holding cabins. There maybe more cabins available after the final payment which is sometime in November. However the rates will be much higher!

Thanks for your replies! Oddly enough, some cabins have become available on the website again.

We are on the 2/10/18 sailing on Vista and that cruise is almost sold out as well. I guess everyone is looking forward to a break from winter!

Although it is a full month earlier, the 1/7 sailing is completely booked as well. We've had it booked as the first half of a B2B for over a year but I noticed it dropped off while checking price drops about two weeks ago. It also turned into a casino premier though, so that probably explains it being booked in my case. With yours being the Super Bowl, I would guess that's the reason yours is booked. Those are actually pretty popular.

The Vista booking are well ahead of expectations as is the Horizon commanding pricing has not been able to do for ages. All is well in Carnival exec town.....

As others have mentioned check after final payment is due. I'd check the day after final payment date and you'll have plenty of cabins but likely very pricey

The Vista is outrageous! I just did a mock booking for our cruise in a couple of weeks and a Havana balcony is over $4000 and almost no cabins left
