GUT2407 Posted October 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 1, 2017 Don't overdo it your first day onboard. Don't try to eat at every specialty restaurant. Don't think you're too cool to participate in corny cruise activities Don't stay in your cabin for hours at a time. Don't forget to be nice to the crew 1. I guess it depends on what you mean by overdo it, I love the first day exploring the ship top to bottom fore to aft 2. Depends on how long the cruise is, which ship and how many specialty restaurants. I look to do a specialty restaurant each week on average so a two week cruise on a ship with 2 specialty restaurants doing them all is fine 3. corny activities aren’t to everyone’s taste, I don’t do many activities at all. 4. I spend a LOT of time in my cabin, I love being in my cabin watching the ocean pass by, I also have a back injury that means I need to spend a fair bit of time in my cabin. 5. This one I totally agree with, and if you get great service mention it to their boss, an$ in the surveys.
jocap Posted October 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 1, 2017 Choose your cabin with care- not under a late night venue or early morning jogging route. Sandwiched between other decks of cabins is best.

Krazy Kruizers Posted October 2, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 2, 2017 Nice list. But it won't apply to everyone -- to each his own. We choose smaller ships -- love to sit out on our verandah with a cocktail and watch the ocean or if we are in a port -- people watch.
dustyroad Posted October 7, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 7, 2017 Don't forget to take advantage of the port city you are in. They offer wonderful things to see and do that you might never see again. Museums, libraries, architecture, food and many other things are there for you too take advantage of instead of going outside of the city limits. And a lot of things are free if you do some research.
