Sail Away rates and upgrade offers

Curious if anyone has booked a Sail Away rate and gotten an upsell offer. If you did, what was your offer? Did you wish you had booked a better cabin from the outset to include bonus offers?

I did. Bid and was accepted $65.00 PP from Inside Guarantee to Balcony Guarantee on the 8/25 Bermuda cruise from Boston. Worth it for the balcony alone. (non drinkers here) so did not need the drinks package. Hope this helps.

Me too. Booked Sailaway interior on Breakaway just a few days prior to sailing. Offered $50 per person to upsell to balcony and it was accepted. Ended up in a B2 on Deck 14.

We got a sail away rate on a balcony which includes drinks package plus all service charges. After final payment we got invite to bid on a suite, but we are happy with cabin allocated so are not going to bother bidding

I was under the impression that sailaway rates do not include the perks. (?)

Sail away rates booked in UK include drinks package and all service charges but not any other perks such as phone minutes etc which we're not bother about as just ring onshore using free wifi

Curious about this, also. As a retired RN, I am now free to cruise last minute, and take advantage of the Sail Away rates.

There is a long thread about upgrades, but...

You can bid on the next two levels. So, from inside to Oceanview and Balcony.

Not so much a suggested bid, but a minimum and a maximum. Pick a number anywhere in between and then wait and see if you bid more than others.

This isn't an option, only the next 2 categories, however- the Epic doesn't have outsides, so possible exception. :)

I got offers on both Epic cruises I was just on, but dumped them in the trash as wasn't interested. :)
