We are currently onboard the Constellation, and looking to book our next cruise. We are considering a cruise out of Cape Liberty upto Canada on the Summit and wondered what she is like? We have also been told she is having a re-fit next year and wondered if that was true?

She is in pretty good shape, but a face lift will be good for her. The crew confirmed during our cruise last week that the Summit is going into drydock next Feb. Sounds like a major upgrade will be done.

Whey are you looking on going, if it is next year, she is getting an entire makeover early in 2019. We will be on the Independence Day cruise in 2019.

“Down right homey”, perfect way to describe her. The Summit is my favorite ship.

No bells and whistles. Probably not good for families with young children, but a relaxing, easy to get around ship, with a great crew. Great for couples looking for “ time away”. Sitting at the outdoor Sunset Bar at the back of the ship watching the sun go down and the waves behind you is pure bliss!

You will find many repeat customers on her because of these reasons. Once you meet up with them, they can become like family!

We've sailed Summit several times and love her! Just the right size for us. The crew is top notch and the food is wonderful, in my opinion.

We’re doing a Sky Suite in 19 for the 10 day Independence Day Cruise, way to go for it, but looking forward to it.

Were on Summit week of May 19, 2018 Bermuda Run. IMHO The Summit is a fine Ship. Kept very well. Excellent crew, good food, friendly personnel, and down right homey.

We were on the same cruise - agree completely. The Summit is like my well used leather sofa — a bit rough on the edges but lovingly looked after and extremely comfortable.

Look past the small nits one finds in an older ship and enjoy the wonderful crew!

Ordinarily, I would say being easily pleased is a virtue, but not when I'm dropping thousands of dollars.

Thanks for all of your thoughts and info, they've been very helpful :D. We have just arrived home from 10 days on the Constellation and loved it!! The crew were fantastic and so friendly, and although the ship is also looking a little tired, it didn't stop us from having a great holiday. We booked the Canada & New England sailing 09/08/19 whilst onboard, which looks to have a good itinerary. The only question mark hanging over it now is whether to move it to the later sailing? Quite a few of the US and Canadian passengers said that going a little later will give us more of a chance of seeing it at its most beautiful.

It will be too early to see the changing leaves, but it will still be beautiful. Clear blue skies and especially in the Canadian Provinces, you will have beautiful light upon the water. ( providing there are no hurricanes!)

You will also have the benefit of pool days, as the temperature will still be warm. I have done the Canadian cruise twice in the month of September.
