Freedom or Glory

Both ships are Conquest class vessels, so the deck plans are the same. Service varies with the Captain and officers and how they manage the crew. You can have a fantastic crew one year and a not so great crew the next.

Food and other venues are pretty much the same as well, both ships have been drydocked for upgrades.

The biggest difference IMO might be itineraries and home ports.- Glory is out of Miami and New Orleans and Freedom is from Galveston.

I have not been on Glory but have spent a total of 21 days on Freedom. The staff and CD Malcolm are great. I can't say enough good things about them. The ship itself is well maintained and the food is really good.

The only negative thing I can say is the interior design is a little over the top 70's casino style.

Also if you like to bring back alcohol, with Texas taxing your duty free alcohol and tobacco, it can add significantly to the coast of your purchase. Also if you get cheers, it doesn't start on Day 1 ( embarkation day) .

We really like Freedom - staff is great. Glory was looking pretty tired when we sailed her, but it's been years so I'm sure she's had some touch-ups since then. I would give her another try if she had the itinerary/price I wanted.

My experience with Galveston vs. Florida is that the staff on Galveston ships always seems to be a bit more friendly & chatty. John Alex in the YTD is a lot of fun.

The downside of leaving out of Galveston is the limited itineraries. There's only so far you can go in a week.

We have done the Freedom twice and the Glory once, but booked on Glory again for May.

We love both obviously. Plan to do them both again..

I would make the decision purely on itinerary.

That said...Freedom is our favorite because of the crew and CD. Malcolm is fantastic, similar to Dr E on Magic but a little less over the top. Very fun, crew is happy and friendly all the time. No problems ever.

Only big difference in ships is that Freedom has the Red Frog PUB on Deck 5, and that is a favorite hangout for us. Glory doesn't have it.

Freedom decor is very gaudy and 70s swirls, Glory is nautical design with lots of anchors and sailboats.
