polabear Posted April 22, 2018 #77 Share Posted April 22, 2018 So, my first name (Gail) is very close to a german word, "geil". Which means, among other things, horny. Cab drivers in Hamburg found this hilarious. :) Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Suzila Posted April 25, 2018 #79 Share Posted April 25, 2018 We found the French people to be very warm, polite, and welcoming. The only time we felt a little out of place was when walking on the Champs Elysees we realized that we, Americans, were the only ones wearing white sneakers. We went back to the hotel and changed into our black walking shoes and felt much more comfortable. The Parisians were dressed more business-like than we who were on vacation. As far as discussing politics, we usually find that people from other countries on the cruise do like to discuss American politics. We try not to get into it with them. At home we get bombarded with politics in the news every day. When we're on vacation, I don't have any desire to discuss it.
