Disney Dream which is really pricey stops at the Disney private island ; Harmony of the sea (which unfortunately is only a 3 day cruise and does NOT go to the New Cococay Private Island); The Mariner of the sea which it does go to the cococay private Island is a 4 day cruise but apparently not a really good ship and lastly the Enchantment of the sea which is a 4 day cruise, does not go to the Cococay private island but goes to the Cayalna aqua park at cocobay. All the ships stops at Nassau. Thanks in advance really appreciate your help

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

Disney cruises are expensive but would be a wonderful continuation of your Disney experience. The kids would definitely be thrilled to be sailing with Mickey!

You also may find a package deal if your land portion includes staying at a Disney resort.

Royal Caribbean is a great family line and you would enjoy. I would however take a longer cruise. Sometimes the 3/4 day cruises tend to be more party cruises. You could find more information on each ship if you post on the RC board. There is nothing wrong with any of the ships you mentioned.

Mariner of the Seas just received a fantastic makeover and added a bunch of new features. I wouldn’t hesitate to book a cruise on her! She looked amazing when we saw her docked in Miami last month.

The Harmony is on a league of her own and it will most likely provide the biggest “Wow! Factor” of all. But from experience, a short cruise will not allow you to enjoy everything that she has to offer. We did a seven day cruise on her sister ship and even that amount of time wasn’t long enough.

We’ve also done Enchantment and we thoroughly enjoyed sailing on her, but she’s the ship that will offer the least of all the ships mentioned. I would select this ship only if the price difference is substantial or if the itinerary best fits your needs.

We sailed on the Disney Dream’s sister, the Fantasy, last November, and while we had an absolutely fantastic time on this cruise, I believe that the prices are overinflated and don’t match what you get for your money. That is unless you’re a rabid Disney fan in which case you may think it’s worth it. We are not “Disney people” and the Disney entertainment overload was getting on our nerves by the end of the week.

After a 9 day Disney land vacation, I wouldn’t spend a premium to sail on a Disney ship. In my personal experience it’s not worth it. My kids are 8 and 6, and while they loved their Disney cruise, they aren’t begging to sail on them again. Disney does have amazing, state of the art children’s facilities but for some reason my kids were not as into them as on other cruise lines that they’ve sailed on. They said that they were claustrophobic and they hated having any meal served there.

Nassau in general is dumpy. We’ve been there too many times to count. However, we took a cruise to Cuba last month and it included a stop in Nassau. One of our family members suggested getting a private boat for the day to take us to a secluded beach in neighboring Rose Island. To this day, it has been the absolute best activity I’ve done in Nassau. We snorkeled with sea turtles, had our own boat with a captain, and he took us to a secluded beach with amazing crystal clear water which we literally had all to ourselves. Not another boat or person in sight.

After that experience, I’d be more inclined to spend less on the actual cruise and save the money for activities like this one. It was a bit pricey, but completely worth it and one of the absolutely highlights of our vacation. Better than any “private island” with a couple thousand fellow cruisers.

Thanks for replaying go my post :) sorry I’m new here .. what’s RC?? How do I post there ? Thanks :)

RC is the common abbreviation for Royal Caribbean.

Each cruise line has a specific board. Not sure how to send a link but go to the main menu. You posted under New Cruises - Ask a question. There is a board to go to for each cruises.

I agree with previous poster excellent informative post.

Disney got us hooked on cruising- way back in 2006. Looking at what we paid for it way back then, it was more than we paid for our RC trip on Harmony....but we loved it and we were happy we did it once! Disney is Disney, they work hard to keep the adult areas adult only, they don't charge extra for soda, the entertainment is top notch as is the meet and greets. The island they have is wonderful, and you can buy a ton of Castaway Key items (we bought beach towels we still have and look great!). But they certainly are at the top of the budget. One reason is they don't have a casino on board- limiting the extra income they can bring in.

Since then we have done RC- all different sizes. Voyager class and above will have a ton of bells and whistles. When our boys were little (19 and 25 now!!!) they enjoyed the RC programing and didn't find it worse than what Disney had to offer.

Take a look at your budget and what you want to do. You really can't go wrong with either, you are making family memories and who knows, you might get hooked :)

Don't know where you get your info from but Mariner gets a 5 out of 5 rating. Suggest you scroll up to the top and search each ship.
