Status Match DCL Platinum

We are looking to book a 2018 cruise on MSC as they have some great prices on Caribbean cruises. I am curious what the status match of a DCL platinum cruiser would mean for us. Eventually I will probably ask some questions about the line and how good of a fit it will be for us parents and a college age adult.

I'm Platinum on DCL and MSC status matched me at Black. :)

What about Platinum with NCL or Diamond with RCI, and Elite with Celebrity?

We're platinum with NCL, (150+ points), and were status matched at Black.

Diamond on RCL is BLACK

Seems like they are giving out black to anyone - apart from those of us that have sailed with them many times - it's not a loyalty card is it ?!?!?

:(:( It was a big spit in a face for us. and now I think ships will be full with black members and priority embarkation will be a joke same as welcome back party. MSC should really do upper level for loyal customers in this case . :cool:

I definitely wouldn't turn down the match knowing how much we spent on DCL, but would agree with you.

Perhaps setup the upper tier people from other lines one below Black, but make it reachable in a cruise or three. That wouldn't hose the loyal MSC cruisers quite as much.

You should't turn down the match it's not your problem at all :p:p but MSC should respect loyal cruisers .

I really agree with this. I have been statusmatched to Black for my first MSCcruise next summer and I am happy for that but I still think it is wrong.

I agree with all the loyal customers. I'd be upset if I had earned the status the hard way and they just kept giving it away for free. I did mention this to the loyalty ambassador on the Divina and he said they were coming up with something new to take care of their loyal customers, not sure what that means. Also, on MSC your status only stays in effect if you cruise once in every three year period, unlike the other lines where once earned, you have that status forever regardless if you cruise or not.
