HAL Captains, Hotel Managers and Cruise Directors - ship assignments

That's going to be a rough job. We rarely have either the captains who are suppose to be on a ship.

Would be really nice for those of us who are interested, if HAL maintained an up-to-date list of this info. On line would be good - easy access. PENNY

We like to know who is 'projected' to be aboard.

BUT we always keep in mind that assignments can change with little or NO notice due to illness, family emergency, Seattle's decision to reassign.

Unlike the captains and hotel managers, the list of cruise directors is not complete and does not indicate projected dates when the C/D's will be onboard the ships (I don't have that info!). The dates behind the names indicate the month when that C/D was last on that particular ship. There are several names, i.e. Pieter Daems & Bruce Allen Scudder (and dates) missing. If you recently completed a cruise and have the name of the C/D, please let me know and I will add it.

One thing I forgot to add is a disclaimer:

The two lists I have posted re: the ship assignments of HAL captains and hotel managers is accurate to the best of my knowledge as of today/the time I posted them. Be aware however, that ship assignments can change at any time without notice.

Yes I will, S7S but it's getting harder and harder to get the right parts from the factory in Amsterdam;) (I'll update the list also!). Working with Walt to make it a permanent "sticky"

Absolutely great.......

A word of caution though.

As John has said........ Changes can happen without notice.

If you have sailed before with a particular Captain or Hotel Manager and would like to sail with them again and see their name and scheduling here on this list.

DO NOT book a cruise predicated upon them being aboard.

They well may be but they also may NOT be. Assignments get changed in the blink of an eye.

IF you love the ship/cruise/itinerary anyway, then sure.....go ahead and book it and hope the person you enjoyed will be there. But don't book a cruise you wouldn't love to be on anyway. You could be disappointed and that would be too bad.

The Hotel Manager of the Statendam when I was on her 2 weeks ago was Cornelis Van Santen. It was was my undertsanding as well he would be on her for most of the summer.

David Martin (CD) said he was leaving Statendam to head to another ship right away but didn't mention which ship it was.

Hi Phil. Cornelis 'Cees' van Santen is on Statendam for four more days (6/17/07) before Wilhelmus 'Willem' Cruijsberg replaces him. Cruijsberg himself will be replaced by Robert Versteeg on 7/29/07. Unknown if Cees van Santen is a Culinary Operations (F&B) manager on move-up as H/M

Thanks for the heads up on C/D David Martin. That list of C/D's I posted will always remain a crapshoot because they change so often and at the last minute!;)

This is a facinating look at which Holland America captains and hotmen are where. It's so very "inside baseball", and therefore is a lot of fun to read. I'm grateful to you for posting it.

I'm happy to see Jeroen Van Donsleaar will be taking the Eurodam out for her inaugural. We had the pleasure of dining with him aboard the Rotterdam back in '02.
