Does anyone know if the main dining room serve biscuits and gravy? yep, i'm a southern gal and that's the one thing i miss on the ship. They have grits for pete's sake..but no biscuits???????????????????:confused: i've never had breakfast in the MDR. so I thought i might try it next time. thanks

crossman2k Posted September 17, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 17, 2009 I know they didn't have it in the main dining room but on the Carnival Pride a few weeks ago they had biscuits and gravy in the Lido buffet every other day. Like 3 or 4 out of the 8 days. It was really good too!
Nekochan Posted September 17, 2009 #7 Share Posted September 17, 2009 They also don't have grits every morning in the buffet, at least that I could find, although they did in the dining room.

minncruisers Posted September 17, 2009 #14 Share Posted September 17, 2009 I'm a fan of biscuits and gravy too. I've always looked thinking there were enough southerners on board to warrant them on the buffet line. Sadly, this born and bred northerner has never seen them either.:(
bobsfamily Posted September 17, 2009 #15 Share Posted September 17, 2009 Were the grits any good? Outside of the south, I've never had any that were good, and some were downright nasty. :( Out of 5 days - one was good, 2 were ok and 2 were nasty... Yes had them every day - at least a "taste". I make GREAT cheesy grits:D and you can use them to fill holes in the wall after an hour or so.

Remember it's 1 to 4... one of grits to 4 of water... plus some salt/butter and a handful of cheese right before serving... oh yeah with some homemade buttermilk biscuits and red eye sausage gravy.... Mmmmm gotta love it!

Almost Packed Posted September 17, 2009 Author #23 Share Posted September 17, 2009 wow, thanks everyone... so it seems not ship specific....it's hit or miss or none at all. When I did eat breakfast, it was the buffet because i did not know the dining room was open for breakfast and lunch. I know this now and will be trying it. i also know that I should check daily as they may or may not have biscuits. What a shame!!!! stewed bananas they have...whatever that is...but NO BISCUITS lol!!!!!!!!! that's crazy lol. hmm, maybe a letter writing campaign to carnival is needed.... and I agree with others regarding the grits...i love em...but i honestly can't recall if they were good or not lol...so i guess they were not that bad lol. but i'm sure i filled up on an omelete and nasty hashbrowns first lol.
