39august Posted January 4, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2005 I have read on these boards that AOS and VOS have solid balcony walls on deck 6 instead of see-through plexiglass. Is this also true for the deck 6 Navigator balconies? If so, I need to try to change my balcony to another deck. I love to see the view from inside my cabin as well as on the balcony. A solid wall would certainly inhibit the view!
Jimbo Posted January 4, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2005 Your'e balcony is fine just be careful what is under your cabin, can sometimes be a noise problem. Jimbo:)

Jimbo:) I have a hump room #6616 on NOS, any noise to worry about? It's by the elevators, but people say they love the hump rooms so I booked it there. Jimbo Posted January 5, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2005 Nothing under you but the waiting area to get on the elevator on deck 5. Should be nice and quiet under you. Jimbo:)
39august Posted January 5, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted January 5, 2005 So, Jimbo, you are sure that the balcony wall is plexiglass? I'm all the way aft, so no noise problem. Just concerned about being able to see through the balcony wall.

Just concerned about being able to see through the balcony wall. Not sure you ever stated your exact cabin, only cabin on the side that might not have the plexiglass wall is the very last one on the side because of the way the ship is constructed there. 39august Posted January 5, 2005 Author #7 Share Posted January 5, 2005 Thanks for the clarification. I did have the very last aft port side D1 cabin, so apparently, it would not have had the pleiglass wall. I decided to change to a D2 on Deck 8 to be sure of having a clear view from my balcony. BOGI Posted April 2, 2005 #8 Share Posted April 2, 2005 JIMBO, OUR CURISE IS JUNE 3,2005 ON THE VOS. WE ARE ON DECK 6, CABIN 6632 BALCONY. IS THIS A BAD CABIN? ALL I READ IS HOW DECK 6 IS ALL METAL.:( I'M VERY CONFUSED:confused: BOGI
TrentS Posted April 2, 2005 #9 Share Posted April 2, 2005 Deck 6 is not "ALL METAL"... If you just look at a pic of the Voyager you'll see that the metal goes up a little farther/higher on the deck 6 balconies than on the other decks. There are no "bad cabins" on the Voyager class ships, none are obstructed or anything, it's just that on deck 6 there's about a foot more metal, meaning about a foot less of the plexiglass "wall" below the railing. frankie&shirley Posted April 3, 2005 #10 Share Posted April 3, 2005 I have a hump room #6616 on NOS, any noise to worry about? It's by the elevators, but people say they love the hump rooms so I booked it there. We also have Hump room #6616 in September. I hear it is a great location and no noise or very little if any is heard. Also read that on NOS deck 6 is plexiglass. Just the smaller ships have the half metal/half plexiglass. Hope what I read is correct. Please Let me know about this room/balcony when you return. Have a wonderful cruise!!!
cruisinfanatic Posted April 3, 2005 #11 Share Posted April 3, 2005 I've had a deck 6 balcony on the Voyager with the steel walls. It's not that high. Unless you're 4 foot tall, you'll be able to see fine while sitting.
