New Beverage Program is here!

The price in the Uk is starting at £68.75 whereas the price in the US is starting at $109.25 which gives an exchange rate of $1.58 to £ which is what X is doing all conversions at just now (shore excursions, bon voyage gifts, cruise prices etc) Today even after a small fall back the £ is at $1.65 and has not been at $1.58 for some time, though X prefer to hold onto that rate. So on the assumption if I buy when I am boarding and that the price through guest relations is the same ie $109.25 if I was having a 3 bottle package then I am better to wait until I board. If the £ drops back then I can buy the package up to 4 days before I cruise so all is well!

I am not sure I got this right with the frozen drinks package but are they limiting your choice only to certain drinks or can you order any such drink from the menu?

No one will really know until they're on a ship and experiencing it. The devil is in the details, and the details are in the implementation of the program. It would appear that any "frozen drink" would be a drink that uses an "Island Oasis" drink mix as a primary constituent, whether it's frozen or blended.

Here's the prices I found:

Classic Liquor: $360.50

Premium Liquor: $532.00

Frozen Drinks: $154.00

Beer: $241.50

These are per person and yes the frozen drink package includes alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. A great deal. That's $7 a piece if you drink 3 a day. This price includes the 15% gratuity so you don't have to pay extra on board.

My SIL ran up a $1000 bar bill on a 7 day cruise, so I guess for some folks, these packages are a bargain. I will continue to pay by the drink ;)

Hahah wow. Was she able to walk off the ship without any assistance? ;)

All the details are posted for our January cruise tonight. However, as was suggested before, as we are on Equinox it indicated the wine packages are NOT available

I wonder why this is? All the other packages are available (at a price!!!)

$51/day for the Liquor Package??? Even assuming the average drink is $8 + gratuities, you'd have get 6 or more drinks A NIGHT to break even. Where did they come up with these prices?

Most likely depends on what and when you drink...on sea days it is easy to have 4 or 5 drinks though out the day at the pool or whatever....we usually have 2 martinis at the martini bar before dinner which are NOT $8 drinks, more like $10.50 plus the 15% and then maybe a glass of wine or 2 with dinner would easily make this a worthwhile investment, and that doesn't even count after dinner drinks in a lounge or nightclub....BUT..on port days I would prolly get shorted...

It was suggested by my TA that the starting at $22 per day was for the non-alcoholic and they will up the alcoholic version of the Frozen drink program to something more in line with over 5-drinks-a-day's price.

Now I hope that speculation is wrong because I would jump on this package if its just $22 alcoholic version with many of the frozen drinks included.

I also hope it isn't really limited to just five or six straight varieties. I love the combo drinks and and "lava" frozen drinks on RCCL (as this is my first Celebrity I am assuming similar bar offerings.)

Cannot wait for a full clarification hopefully next week. But, as mentioned in another's post, the reviews from people utilizing the packages come next year is what really counts.

cruiseinfoseeker, I am not too sure about that, if you read the fine print

"You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase the Frozen Drinks Package and to consume alcohol".

It sounds like there is only one package and you can then choose with or without alcohol.

I think this package would be great if every day were a sea day. But I usually like my frozen drinks during the day while at the pool. On my next cruise we only have 1 sea day and I cannot see this paying off. I like wine with dinner and then maybe a beer while in the casino.

I personally would love some kind of beverage 'all inclusive' plan - where you wouldn't be stuck with just beer or liquor or wine. A package where you could choose whatever you wanted depending on your mood. Does anyone know if something like that is available?

Also, does anyone know how much Celebrity charges for a bottle of water? I believe that their website says "starts at $2.50" but I was wondering if anyone knew the real cost. I'm trying to decide if the water package is worthwhile.

Last December on GTS Summit. Absolute Martini in the Martini Bar.

$6.00 plus 15% gratuity = $6.90. I have multiple receipts I could scan for you:D

hmmmm.... so if you buy the standard booze plan, you can't order a beer or a glass of house wine without paying again?

Wouldn't a more expensive plan include beverage choices from less expensive plans?

Does anyone know if you can buy the soda plan a few days after the cruise begins if you just pay for the remainder of days left on cruise, or do you have to pay for the previous days you didn't have it. Thanks!

You will have to pay for it for the whole cruise...not part of the cruise

The packages are now showing up on the reservations page. The frozen drink package with alcohol is $22 per day as the website originally showed. It will be interesting to see if these do well. I really do not see that many people taking advantage of this. Who wants to drink the same thing every day all day? Not me. I also wish they had done one that was a choice or at least do the 10 drink cards and give a better choice.

On Solstice the price was $10.00 + gratuity = $11.50, but you got a great pour and top-shelf vodka.
