ultrarunner Posted November 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2009 what's the food situation on board on arrival in PPT. On board Air Nui? Thanks in advance Sign me Hungry
Emdee Posted November 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2009 I personally dont care for the ATN food. It has been going down over the years. Plenty of alcohol though. I usually eat a meal in LAX before boarding. Once you reach the PG it is dinner time. So after a quick wash up we are off for dinner. I have never done the sailaway but may do so next week. Wendy The Wanderer Posted November 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 1, 2009 Depends on what time you board the ship. Not sure what they provide if you board late at night, although there's always room service. I agree about the food on board ATN, although I find that the food *going* to PPT is pretty good, while the food flying back is pretty bad. I've always put this down to limited provisioning facilities in PPT. The ship usually sails late now, so there is no sailaway party, as such. Just a few night owls prowling around the deck. Cruisedreamer1 Posted November 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 1, 2009 I agree with the comments about ATN but once aboard food will not be a problem. You will arrive in time for dinner on the ship (assuming you are taking one of the afternoon flights from LAX).
Cruisedreamer1 Posted November 1, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 1, 2009 If you are a runner, do you plan to jog while ashore or on the treadmill?

AtMaui Posted November 3, 2009 #7 Share Posted November 3, 2009 It might depend on the itinerary as far as a sailaway party. On the 10/3/09 cruise, both LaVeranda and L'Etoile were open for dinner (reservations only at LaVeranda as usual) and there was a welcome aboard party at the pool around 9:30, I think, when we set sail. But on my cruise in 2006, I agree with Wendy that there were just a few "night owls" wandering around. No party when we set sail.
Emdee Posted November 4, 2009 #8 Share Posted November 4, 2009 Good to hear about the sailaway.... I shall keep awake and enjoy the lights of Papeete.
Rare RachelG Posted November 4, 2009 #9 Share Posted November 4, 2009 I was crashed in bed by the time of sailaway!
Wendy The Wanderer Posted November 4, 2009 #10 Share Posted November 4, 2009 Oh, it was lovely last time. Not like the first, with our first-ever cruise and sailaway party, but sailing out of Papeete is always magical. In fact, any sailaway is magical, and soon I'll have one on Voyager! Whoopee!
