I voted "other" because I prefer to cruise with my husband, but also with a group of CC friends we have met online and with whom we have communicated and shared information during the period preceding the cruise. It is such fun putting faces to the names and communicating in person with people you have already come to "know" at least to some degree. We have made some very good friends this way and it makes the anticipation of the cruise even better. I cannot imagine cruising without a cruise critic group to meet onboard!

"Other".

I really enjoyed cruising with my husband, my mom, and her husband. (I would've chosen "spouse and parents" if it was available even though he's not my father- but I like him an awful lot!) We do not have any children and I am young enough to have parents that are still pretty young too :) I think once we have children I'd like us to all travel together. Maybe my family in a suite and the "grandparents" in the balcony next door?

Live Aboard Dive Boats. While I have been on quite a few of these, the two below were especially nice:

The next one, March 2010, I am looking forward to and hope it is as nice as those above:

Too bad the poll does not allow for multiple answers. I only cruise when I am alone....or with someone. ;)

Need multiple also.

Was Spouse for the first 24 cruises - She passed away.

First time Signicant other (Or so I thought) kids and friends

This time my buddy is going with me - first time cruise for him.

Who knows what happens after that.

Our extended family includes our wonderful friends who we've met on previous cruises. We've sailed many times with a few and a few times with many others. Having said that they are now part of our family permanently.

Pat C, I agree with your sentiment and feel that friends are the family we choose for ourselves :)
