Has Mountaintop been rebuilt yet??

Does anyone know if Mountaintop has been or is in the process of being rebuilt since it burnt down in April??

I had no idea that there was a fire! What happens on the tour? We are taking Godfrey's tour the beginning of January. Are we still able to go to the top? I wouldn't want to miss out on that amazing view (and yummy banana dacquiri!)

The view is still there, the building and banana daiquiri's aren't. Someone reported it here right after it happened and I was able to find a news story at that time, but I can't remember if there was any info about what happened.

 

You can always go to Paradise Point and have a Bushwhacker instead!

They moved the banana daiquiri to St Peter Mountain Great House, and most of the tours now go there instead. Beautiful view, too.

We did the Sunny Liston tour last month, and, as previous poster said, the tours are now going to Peter the Great House. The views are every bit as beautiful, and there is a little botanical area to walk through, and a gift shop. We had a Banana Daquiri and a Bushwacker that we shared. Pricey, but good!

So when you get off the ship are there open air taxis that go to St. Peter Mountain Great House and take you back to the ship like they used to do for Mountain Top?

Yes, Ocean Boy, but you have to specifically ask if they're going to The Greathouse. Not sure if 100% of them do, but most do as of now. Never know when things will change though.

Thanks. We have been to St. Thomas many times so this would be something different to do this time. We have enjoyed the open air taxi rides in the past so I think that will be the plan for the morning.

I have yet to see ANY work being done on Mountaintop. I live near Magen's Bay. St. Pete's Greathouse is a good alternative, still has wonderful views and the same famous banana daquiri.
