Down and dirty -- how's the toilet paper and tissues?

Should we bring my own toilet paper and tissues? Wife will likely bring her own shampoo. I, on the other hand, an concerned about the real thing -- no sham-poo for me.

Although we use the softess of soft here at home, I think I would be concerned about the system used to dispose of this onboard. Ruff it and leave the TP at home, what they supply isn't all that bad at all. ;)

I agree with Toto - have never had a "problem" with the toilet tissue on Princess. Granted it's not what you get at home, but it is designed for the vacu flush toilets. Don't want to "mess" with them!:eek:

Well, they both work. In fact, the tissue is so soft many put several layers under the bed sheets to compensate for the hard mattress and never get scuffed! :D

Tissue is OK to bring as long as you do not flush it down.

Not exactly like those on an airplane, they aren't chemical toilets. But you sure wouldn't want to 'stuff them up' and have to walk all the way to the nearest public toilet (along with all those in staterooms in your area) for the entire cruise, I wouldn't think. ;)

It's just not worth the chance!

Their tissues are fine for occasional use but not nearly as nice as I use at home. I always bring a small stack of good tissues from home in case I get a cold and am using tissues often. That happened to me once and within a day my nose was bright red and very sore from the tissues on the ship. I just grab a stack from my tissue box that is around 1" thick and that has always lasted throughout the cruise for me.

your gonna dirt it and flush it anyways? The Costco and Grocery store Premium toilet paper will get stuck in your toilet on the ship.

 

you can ask for premium toilet paper that they give to the mini and full suites.

My only complaint about our Panama Canal cruise on the Island last month was about the thin TP. :D Better not bring your own, though.

That happened to me once and within a day my nose was bright red and very sore from the tissues on the ship. I just grab a stack from my tissue box that is around 1" thick and that has always lasted throughout the cruise for me.

I agree; I got a cold on our Ruby TA, and the tissues really irritated my nose. I found the most amazing strong but soft tissues in Italy. They are Kleenex brand, but they're thicker and very soft. I bought a pack of 10 purse size packets, and I'm rationing them until we get back to Italy in April!

I always bring some tissues,--they go into a trashcan, but I would never use anything but the ship's toilet paper...I'd hate to "clog up" the works with something that won't dissolve as needed!
