Vic The Parrot Posted January 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2010 Since the topic has been covered (pardon the pun :D ) in so many ways, from wearing them in public, etc., etc. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what type of robes are currently supplied on board all ships. On my Eurodam sailing last year, they were very nice. Heavier than the thin standard waffle-weave robes, yet lighter than the full terrycloth kind. This robe had blue piping (accents) I think, on the sleeves, and chest. And the inside was a soft layer of thin terry that felt like silk. I'm sure before, many moons ago on the maiden voyage of Noordam, the robes were the thin waffle, with gold trim. Do all the ships now have the newer style? Thanks for your input. :)

DutchByAssociation Posted January 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2010 Do all the ships now have the newer style? Thanks for your input. :) The rollout of the new design should be finished by now, although I suppose there could be a couple floating around here or there. The new robes with the blue piping are the best! I love them!
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2010 On our recent Zuiderdam cruises -- SA -- did not have the newer robes with the blue piping -- just the old waffle type.

RuthC Posted January 12, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2010 Do all of the cabins have robes or just the suites? Every cabin on every HAL ship gets two robes. (Except for the single cabins on the Prinsendam. ;)) Even the lowly insides on Dolphin Deck.

Krazy Kruizers Posted January 12, 2010 #9 Share Posted January 12, 2010 Conspiracy  YUP!! But we never use them. We have our own robes which we use ONLY in the cabin -- not even out on the verandah.

Ditto for our Zuiderdam cruise that ended today. The robes were in very good condition. I enjoy using them and not having to pack my own robe.
