We are currently trying to decide b/t a balcony on Epic and a Penthouse aft suite on Spirit - you guys are definitely causing me to sway towards the older ship in a suite over the new ship in a regular cabin!
I would absolutely do that. No question.

Thanks! I tend to think things to death, so I've been worrying over this decision. 18 cruises and we've never had a balcony, much less a suite, so this is going to be really special!

Hi Susan,
Definitely go with the suite. We were granted suite perks on our sailing on the Spirit. Bruce who was the Concierge was great. On the Spirit, you will get the following:
1) VIP boarding
2) Escort to your suite
3) Breakfast/Lunch in Cagney's
4) A reserved upper balcony for the shows
5) Snack plates delivered to the cabin each night
6) Invite to the Captain's Private Party
7) Escort off the ship at each of the ports
8) Escort off the ship for disembark

Thanks, Dave! I think we're going to go for it - just have to talk to Greg about it and make sure he's cool with it. BTW, HAVE A GREAT TIME ON THE TRIUMPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish we could be there with you.
I suspect there is a difference between being the guest of a VIP at Cagneys, and being put on the VIP list oneself.
Yes there is a big difference. Just look at the list that I posted of the things you would not be able to do.

Precisely... And that's why I can imagine a scenario, requiring HD approval, for occasionally granting a non-suite guest, full suite privileges. Maybe it's the adult daughter of a VIP on her honeymoon. Maybe it's the 50th Anniversary of a long-time regular cruiser.. etc, etc.

But from everything I've seen and heard --- For a regular suite guest to simply share some of their amenities -- inviting a guest into Cagney's for example, it seems you just need to politely ask the concierge.

We are in a courtyard villa in 2 weeks, with our 2 children. My parents (the grandparents) are in a regular balcony cabin. From my understanding, we really cannot invite them to use the courtyard amenities. But we should be able to invite them to join us at Cagney's, maybe allow them to join us for early tendering..
