Adult only areas on Spirit

This will be our first cruise on Carnival. I have heard about adults only areas on decks and in addition to the casino. I'm wondering if this is true and if so, where is it on the Spirit?

Thanks.

Is this like a XXX area or somehow related to the Cougar Cruises??? Inquiring minds want to know! :D

Is it possible to walk back and forth to each beach?

And also... can you walk into the Karmina Palice from Las Hadas?

Which beach did you like best?

2/15 "Can't Wait"

Suitegirl....you can't walk from the terminal in Manzinillo to Las Hadas....its probably about 5 miles....besides, the terminal is in an industrial area - no beaches nearby....plenty of taxi's/buses so I'm sure you can get there cheaply enough.....I don't know about Karmina Palice to Las Hadas.

I have been on the Spirit 3 times (4th in Oct.) and I honestly couldn't remember...So, I pulled out my Capers

It states:

Lido forward whirpool is adults only

Deck 11- Midship is reserved for guests that are 21 or over...drink service is available

The Capers are from Oct 2008, so I don't know if it's changed.

I don't know about the whirlpool, since I don't go in them. But the Deck 11 midship area is "adults" only. That's were we went to get some sun. It's a nice area but can be windy.

They still say drink service is available, but unless you bring your own with you I'm not sure how you'd get a drink. Never saw anyone there to take a drink order.

Also didn't see any staff or even a phone there in order to let a staff member know when a lady brought her 4 kids up there.

glad to hear there are some kid free zones. Is there some type of signs telling people these are adults only? I'm assuming the woman just choose to ignore it???

There was a sign in the stairwell leading up there and I want to say there was one on the deck area as well (but not 100% sure). But yeah, she ignored it.

I put on my comment card there should be a phone up there since it is sort of away from the action so to speak and I never say any crew member around. Well except when it was too windy and they were stacking up the chairs.

But there should be one there to report any issues or for an emergency I would think.

The Aft pool and spa are adult only. Kids can be in the area, just not in the pool or spa. Sometimes they get in anyway, but on the 3 cruises I've been on, a security guy has come and asked the kids to get out of the pool if any got in it.

The Fantasy class ships are the ones that have the new "adult serenity area" I think.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got off the Spirit yesterday. The Aft whirlpool and one part of the upper deck was designated as adult only. Kids were always in the Aft whirlpool and adult area of the deck. Carnival didn't care so don't expect a kid free area and if it happens then consider it a bonus!

No judgement here, just the way it was these past 8 days.

This was also our experience. I think they either do not enforce it or need to make sign changes. It does not bother me, I like kids.

The highest point on the ship was usually by the smoke stack use to be bathing suit top optional area.;) Now mini golf. I was on the inspiration when they stopped the ship to pick up a boat full of Cuban refugees. Many people ran up to the top deck to get a better view of the rescue. There were a few occupants of the deck at that time were not pleased when dozens of people with cameras rushed up to take pictures of the event. They sat there with beach towels in their hands. When we were on the Liberty last year. They had an Adults only area at the aft pool. There was an ice cream machine there which attracted a lot of non-adults.

I was on the Spirit 1/6/10 and the aft whirlpool and pool area is adults only. It is on the lido deck and it has a bar staffed by a great bartender. It is also a smoking area. For those of you who are reading "adult only" as topless, not the case. It is just an area to get away from your little ones without upsetting them. " Sorry, honey, the sign says adults only". lol They are allowed on the deck area near the bar though, ice cream machines are right there. Which is good if you like to mix your beer with ice cream.

To clarify: In the "old days" Carnival ships had a deck, I believe it was called the "F" deck that was top optional. They have been phased out. When the Evolution of Fun came along all of the Fantasy class ships got an adult-only serenity area: Fantasy, Imagination, Inspiration, Ecstasy, Fascination and one more. I am sure what was described on the Spirit is the same idea- I'll check it out next week!
