Daryl Most of the construction was do to build of fly over at NASA rd one. That mostly is over. Those major traffic problems should be over! Texas Tillie Posted February 9, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2010 As a native Houstonian, I can report that since it opened as the Gulf Freeway in 1953 (before the interstate highway system existed), there has ALWAYS been construction on the road somewhere between downtown Houston and Galveston!!:D:p:)

Hopefully it will not affect cruisers during day returning home from Galveston. All in the effort of progress! When the closures are announced, information will be posted on thread. :D
