39august Posted February 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2010 Is the sliced tenderloin with peppercorn sauce, usually served on first formal night, gone from the new menus?

dancing bear Posted February 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2010 I enjoyed it on Mariner in January. Our waiter said to be sure to order it no more cooked than "Medium", as it tended to get tough when overcooked. It was, by far, the best piece of beef I had on the ship and was a good 2 inches thick. Chari910 Posted February 12, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 12, 2010 I had it on our Jan 30th on the Oasis. Yes, it was VERY yummy. I also ordered the $15 Filet mignon from Chop Grille in the MDR one night and it was so good! Came to find out they used the MDR grill anyway. wmjrdn Posted February 13, 2010 #9 Share Posted February 13, 2010 My wife and I just got off the Grandeur on February 11 -- they had the tenderloin with green peppercorn sauce on the Formal Night (moved to the third night to accomodate the Super Bowl). They had prime rib twice -- the first night and the fourth (paired with the Fisherman's Plate was delicious). I found the prime rib to particularly good -- I had both the prime rib and Fisherman's Plate on night four and could cut the entire piece of beef with my fork alone. John Henry on CC Posted February 13, 2010 #10 Share Posted February 13, 2010 I had it on our Jan 30th on the Oasis.Yes, it was VERY yummy. I also ordered the $15 Filet mignon from Chop Grille in the MDR one night and it was so good! Came to find out they used the MDR grill anyway. The STEAK is a "Chops Grille steak". They do cook it in the MDR's regular kitchen. They have a very nice grill there, and cook it there with tender loving care. :)
