Carnival Players Club

I called the players club 2 weeks before we left and was told I would receive $50 in the casino and a bon voyage pkg in our stateroom. When I went to the casino, the manager said I wasn't eligible and I never received anything in my stateroom. I was so disappointed. On my last cruise I received free drink tickets, a Bon voyage package, free photo coupons, free drinks in the casino, a bottle of wine at dinner, and chocolate covered strawberries twice.

Also, every time I would email them, I'd get no response. :(

Thats a Bummer....Everytime I call any of the Players Clubs whatever they tell me I'm going to get I Ask Them to be sure to Input it as I've read more than one time of people like in your situation NOT getting anything.

Plus I Always get the Persons name who you Originally Talked with...

I emailed them about 2 weeks ago and still haven't gotten a response...BUT, as in the past and for the future, for Donna and everyone else, I have always, whether I emailed them or spoken to them, ALWAYS ask for whatever I am told I would be getting to be put it in an email please. Then I carry that email with me on the ship.

Also, in the future, if any of you were promised something and get on board only to be told NO, not eligible, don't have anything for you etc.... You are most likely on that cruise between Monday and Friday 9 - 5... make someone in the casino call them.... If you are promised something, don't take no for an answer....

First time cruiser, will be going on the glory next year. Is it even worth contacting them? I play a lot at Casinos on land.

I would honestly say no, as they rate you based on how much you played on the machines on your last cruise BUT it never hurts... I would definitely fill out the form on their website...

Good idea Elaine. In fact, I called them from the ship (I was still on the cruise when I posted) and they made the call so I was able to get the comp in the casino at least. I only had one more day of the cruise left but something was better than nothing. I'll be sure to follow up like that for my future cruises.

I applied for credit on carnival, which I have gotten at several land casinos qucikly with no problems. Never got a reply. Emailed for a status of my application. Again no reply. Are the casinos in this small ships really that busy that can afford to annoy someone willing to spend a bunch of cash? I almost want to avoid the casino but I guess that would be more a pain to me than them. However, I never bring that much cash so without the line of credit I won't spend as much.

I have the best luck when I call in the afternoon. I keep calling until I get the message "wait for a rep" (not the exact words) then I put my phone on speaker and play some computer games until someone answers. Ten minutes is the most I think that I waited before someone answers. I think they have only about 4 people answering the phones for all of the casinos So they are busy. But the best results have been from calling direct.

Good luck

Since I was on here complaining I figured I'd better post when they do something right. I followed Dot's suggestion and called in the afternoon. I chose the option for lines of credit and got an agent within 3 minutes. They did have my application and said it should be approved by the end of the week. I also hit them up for something free. He said he'd do the chocolate covered strawberries and some drinks. I asked if there was an alternative as I gave up chocolate for Lent. I am now supposed to receive a wine and fruit basket! Score! Thank you for encouraging me to not give up.:D

Just wanted to include a follow-on to this thread. We are cruising April 7th on the Dream and so I called and spoke with Mike. He said we would be getting a Bon Voyage package and then asked if we liked red or white wine (that wasn't asked before!). He also said I would be getting $100 to play with at the casino. :D At the end of our conversation, I asked him if he could please send that to me in an email and he said he would and repeated my email address. After I didn't receive anything on that day (I had called in the morning), I had thought I wouldn't be receiving one but the next afternoon, there it was! Now I feel like I can really have my hopes up that they will actually come through. :)

Can someone please repost the toll free number to call.

I was given a number to call by my PVP, but it always goes to voice mail saying to leave my name and number and they will call back (which they haven't yet).

Thanks in advance

I called 1-800-522-7466

I don't ever leave my name and number. Instead I call at different times until I get the message that all reps are busy and to please hold the line.

We just got back from the Spirit and did in fact get the premium Bon Voyage package as promised prior to the trip. It included a basket of fruit, a couple of large bottles of water and a bottle of wine. We also received a $15 photo coupon the first night at dinner.

The host on board the Spirit was awesome. She actually found us the first night in the casino by seeing our names on the slots while our cards were in the machines. Every day she came by to talk to us and was always very friendly.

Overall we had a great time in the casino. DW hit a couple of jackpots on video poker and DH was able to play craps throughout the week and not loose too much.

water ? really ?

Just got off the phone with Marty in the Carnival Players Club and she looked up my play from our cruise in September. She gave me $50.00 free play and said we would have goodies in the cabin. She mentioned Chocolate covered strawberries and other goodies. We haven't received any offers lately so I thought it was worth a call. Didn't gamble quite enough to pre-qualify for the Drinks on Us card but thats ok. She was really nice and a pleasure to speak with. It took about 10 minutes on hold. She said they were short handed and trying to work as fast as possible to take care of all those cruising within the next 30 days first.

Vidimom - I hope you get your goodies! Please come back and let us know if you did. I know Marty promised me (via e-mail) at least $100 casino cash, fruit basket, bottle of wine, bottles of water and a photo coupon on my last cruise and I got zilch. I replied to her 'how was your cruise?' e-mail telling her that the ship had no record of anything from the Players' Club, and I haven't heard anything in response. Waited a month for a response, then e-mailed her (and all of the other CPC folks) again asking what happened, and still haven't gotten a reply. Really not trying to be snotty, but after earning over 9,000 points on a 3 day cruise, I would think they'd want to keep me. Guess not. After 17 Carnival cruises, I am finally doing what I never thought I'd do and moving on to NCL. Rumor has it they treat their casino players a lot better, and their cruises have been cheaper lately anyway. Don't get me wrong, I had an absolute blast on my cruise, but with all the changes on Carnival recently, it's time to see what NCL is like.

Why does Carnival only rate you from your last cruise? Why don't they rate you per year? I cuised in April 2012 on Magic and cruised again in September 2012 on Triumph. Gambled quit a lot, the only problem is the September cruise was only 5 days :( That screwed up my points and now I won't get free drinks at the beginning of my cruise in February 2013. I think they should reward loyalty for all cruises..... What do all of you think???? Their system really needs to be changed!! I still love cruising and love Carnival!!!!! Just wish I'd get some credit for all the money I lose:(

OMG.. I totally agree with you.. My last cruise in September was only a Friday-Monday (and I was only 700 points short of 5000 points!!!) but the one prior in April was a Saturday-Sunday.. They didn't look at that, care about it etc... So sad :(

You know I really think if they don't do some changing with the players club they are going to lose some really loyal cruisers!! We cruise every year with a group of 8 and we're really thinking about trying Royal Caribbean. I hope someone reads this from the Casino Host Dept. Maybe things will change!!

Last year while on the dream, the casino manager came to me on the 3rd day of the cruise and put a free drink card on with my players card. After that cruise I had 3000 points on my card. Carnival has called me several times since offering me casino cash and vip players rate for another cruise.
