Sugar*Magnolia Posted March 2, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2010 Havent been on Serenade, but we have had suits, gowns and random garments dry cleaned on board other RCCL Ships. The cost was less than at home and the service was very good.
cb at sea Posted March 2, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2010 Yes--simply put it out when you board and get to your cabin, and it will be returned the next day.
Sue L Posted March 2, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2010 About $5 or so, don't remember exactly, but they do a great job and you can have pressing done for 1/2 of the drying cleaning cost.
zywnywld Posted March 2, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2010 I'd have any dry cleaning done before leaving. Pack those things as carefully as you need to and just send them out to be pressed once onboard.
MrPete Posted March 2, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 2, 2010 They also offer pressing only services. There's a link in here for the prices: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/customersupport/faq/details.do;jsessionid=0000w8RMDQbx80sHGZPB3I6UkiF:13hldcgo7?pagename=frequently_asked_questions&pnav=5&snav=2&faqId=287&faqSubjectId=337&faqSubjectName=Onboard+Extras&faqType=faq
TAG2424 Posted March 2, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted March 2, 2010 Thanks to all....but some are saying No dry cleaning and some are saying yes they will. I am just trying to avoid bringing a garment bag and paying the extra luggage fee that they charge now for flying.

I am just trying to avoid bringing a garment bag and paying the extra luggage fee that they charge now for flying. consider renting a tux then on board, you can do it all ahead of time, it will be in your stateroom upon boarding. And NO luggage fees. Hubby wears suits practically everyday and we just grab one to bring in its plastic bag, no worries how it arrives and has it done when we board. He does the same for dress shirts.

Where did you see anyone on this thread indicate that there is no dry cleaning available? Some have suggested that you have your dry cleaning done at home and using their pressing service when you board the ship, but everyone who responded to your question acknowledged the availability of dry cleaning service on RCI ships. If anyone, on another thread, has suggested otherwise, they were wrong.:)
mjldvlks Posted March 2, 2010 #10 Share Posted March 2, 2010 We have started having our dry cleaning done on board because (a) it's cheaper, and (b) you don't have to be so careful when you pack.

Pack those things as carefully as you need to and just send them out to be pressed once onboard. Why would you pay to have them dry cleaned and then pay to have them pressed? Wouldn't be simpler, and cheaper, to just have them dry cleaned on board?
tbrownharr Posted March 2, 2010 #12 Share Posted March 2, 2010 I have to agree. The first thing I do when I unpack is send all my shirts out to get dry cleaned. I have never had a problem not having them there the next day and they do a good job. Just remember - you may be careful packing them - but they have to get from the luggage handlers to your room....;)
mjldvlks Posted March 2, 2010 #13 Share Posted March 2, 2010 You can get same day service for a 50% premium. Even that makes the prices on board only slightly higher than at home.
Puffinater Posted March 2, 2010 #14 Share Posted March 2, 2010 I have my Tux done on the ship. Seems my local dry cleaner cannot follow the perma crease in the pants. I am very satisfied with the service. I think it is about $9 or $10.
