Free on board

Basically most entertainment including shows and lectures will be free. Use of the library is free. You can borrow cards and board games or take part in trivia games. There is a list of daily activities delivered to your cabin. Use of the gym is free unless taking part in an organized activity. One way to be sure if something is free (besides asking) is that if they ask for your ship card that means they will be charging you otherwise it is free.

This most recent cruise, we decided to do more stuff on the ship. We checked the Patter daily and planned what we wanted to do.

We did Trivia a couple of times. We actually won "Romantic Movie Quotes" triva! (Ladies, be careful when you volunteer to go up on stage as a followup to the "When Harry Met Sally" question!). We did the Wheelhouse English Pub lunch, which was a different experience. We ate at the International Cafe quite a lot. We made it a point to meet our friends at a different bar every night before dinner. We really liked the Terrace Pool for sunsets. Some of the best entertainment, we thought, was at random times in the Piazza, with jugglers, balancing acts, etc.

I bet I can guess what that's about!!

The wonderful freshwater pools are free (although I swear I'd be happy to pay per use if they'd just heat them. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease, Princess??)! A chair on the Promenade Deck to watch the sea pass by is free. Afternoon tea is free -- and highly addictive!

As far as activities, there are few that are charged for. Some of the spa/gym classes, most Scholarship@Sea classes (if they still have them on your ship), wine tastings are a few that come to mind as charged for.

You can attend the art auctions and often get champagne there with no charge. Just make sure you sit on your hands the whole time. :)
