joand452 Posted March 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2010 It's been a while since we've traveled with travelers' checks, but we're thinking of using them again next week. Can you still cash them on the Purser's Desk? Is there a fee? We'll be on the Ruby. Thanks!
cherylandtk Posted March 23, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2010 You can still use them, still no fee for cashing onboard.

Rare PescadoAmarillo Posted March 23, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2010 We always carry travelers checks when we're cruising to an area that accepts US dollars. Otherwise we use ATM cards for local currency. But what I like about cashing the travelers checks on board is that we can get exactly the denominations of bills that we want. $1s and $5s are perfect for small purchases and local buses on the islands.
