I did post requests in the upcoming Roll Call threads asking people to confirm whether there are hair dryers in non-suite cabins and also asked about the current wine packages.

As far as I know, the Your Time dining is now available on all ships, no? My reservation shows it as an option, and we're only 3 weeks out.

Burrito bar? Never saw one on any ship, but maybe I wasn't looking. I've tended to stick to deli sandwiches the past few cruises. My latest "must have" are the turkey subs.

Pretty sure it's just the standard Fantasy-class ship stuff: the Taste of Nations, salad bar, pizza, deli, poolside grill. But I'm someone will correct me if I'm wrong. At least I hope so! ;)

We cruised the week of April 19th. So no their were not any hairdryers in our inside stateroom.

We did the anytime dining option, the service was a little slower but I am a fan of it now.

No their is not a burrito bar. :)

The secret doors on the Fantasy class ships, you have to go all the way through the main show lounge on either side and go through two sets of doors, (it doesn't look like you can go through here but you can), You get amazing views and it is very peaceful here.

Read this in an older topic and, not having seen it in this topic, thought I'd let everyone else know about it.

maxx: Yes, there is a sushi bar. It's on the deck along the Promenade, outside the casino.

Have a look at the deck plans. You can see it sort of wedged there just before you get to the atrium area (walking forward along the Promenade).

rlloyd: I remember reading about the secret doors. Forgot to look for that when I sailed Fascination.

pearl: Thanks for the link!

NCTribeFan..great thread you started:) Our second cruise was on the Fantasy..a long time ago:D We've been on her two more times and are booked for the 7 day in September! So happy there is a ship sailing out of Charleston other than NCL. Wish we could get some better itineraries though.

I have some pictures of the Fantasy but they are from a few years ago so not really up to date. If anyone is interested in them let me know and I'll try to post. Looking forward to being on her again in September...I love the Fantasy class ships!.

A wonderful bar waiter we know should be coming back on her June 6th..his name is Kurni - anyone sailing after then please look him up and say hello from Jane and Frank. He is a wonderful person and great at his job:) I will let everyone know for sure when he does actually come back on the ship.

NCL hasn't sailed out of Charleston for a year you may mean Celebrity?

Nope..did mean the Majesty...we sailed her many years ago..knew Celebrity had a ship there too but didn't realize the Majesty was gone..small, older ship and just not a good cruise.

Also if you sail out of Charleston in the winter you could have a day or two with cold weather. We sailed in January and it was cold coming and going!

Sailed Fascination out of JAX December 2008. Decided I'd just have to stick to ports further south for my mid-December cruises. It was 5 days, at sea the first and last days, and it was cold and windy both days. Had virtually no time on deck.

But I had booked it to get to HMC (hmmm, I notice a pattern here), and it was a beautiful day there.

Hoping weather should be nice when we sail (three weeks from today!). Not too hot; not too chilly.

Fingers crossed..we've been to HMC 5-6 times and never missed the island:) It is my absolute favorite stop...hoping September brings fair weather..no "you know what"..not naming them so they don't come:eek:

NCtribe...enjoy HMC:)

I just found this thread…

We are sailing Fantasy from Charleston January 12, 2011. This will be our (hubby and I) first cruise and I have been lucking around CC for about a month and this is my first post. :)

My only concern is… did we pick the wrong time of year to cruise? We picked January because the price was right and kids should be back in school.

We booked a Grand Suite and looking at the pictures I think we choose the right room for us. We really are not touristy people and just like to hang out and enjoy each other. No we are not newlyweds; we have been married for 6 years, but our vacations have always been quiet. So we are branching out with trying a cruise.

I can’t wait for some of your reviews to come back, especially the ones leaving from Charleston. We live in North Carolina, so the drive for us is only 4 hours. We are planning to drive down the night before and staying at the Hampton Inn, Hubby is not a early riser, if we were going to drive down the day of the cruise we would have to leave about 6:00 am and hubby was like “no way”:(

Anyway…thanks to everyone for all the great advice and we are looking forward to this adventure.

You may have cool weather sailing from Charleston in January. Once you reach the Bahamas, it should be very nice. I've sailed the past few years in mid-December and just love it. Right before kids are out for the holidays, so not so many on board and prices are great. Water is, of course, cooler, but not so cold that it keep me on the beach (talking about being in HMC 12/06 & 12/08).

Great news!

Fantasy is going to start sailing to Bermuda! Yee haw! I've been whining about Carnival not calling there for ages!

I believe she's is going into dry dock near the end of the year. Does anyone know if they're adding the balcony cabins?

Glory is going to be sailing to Bermuda on 10/16/11 from Norfolk. That would be excellent for me (shorter drive, day after last big work deadline), but having the Bermuda option for Fantasy, even if only a few sailings through the spring/summer/fall, is great.

Looking forward to hearing about VIP embarking in Charleston. In the past we were on the NCL Majesty and embarking was really messed up as there is not really a cruise terminal. Hope that CCL has worked on this prob. Please post your observations. Thanks.

The same terminal you used back on your Majesty cruises is still in use. There are plans to move it further up the river and build a brand new terminal but it is still in the planning stages.

From what I've read on the East Coast Departures board, there is no VIP anything until you've gone through security. Not a big deal, I suppose, but after I "worked" so hard to get to Platinum, it would be nice to NOT have to stand in that line to get through security. I'm guessing that all VIP gets at embarkation is a separate desk to check in.

I'll be able to let you know by the end of the month. :D
