Help with Ft. Lauderdale Hotel

I'm picking up a lot of tips on this thread, thanks to all of you!

Now I have a question. Does anyone have any suggestion regarding booking a room (or suite) for 4, when there are really 5 in the group? The reason I'm asking is because I notice that 90% of the online booking sites have a maximum of 4. If I go on Priceline or Hotwire, they will only accept 4 in the criteria section, yet some of the places have 2 queens & a sofa bed, which will accommodate 5 people.

Hi Trudy:) I have stayed there 3 different times over the years

and have always been satisfied. It is not what I would consider

a 5 star hotel but probably 3.5 to 4;)

Yes, Valuetrips always has better rates and I have always been

pleased with the results....no issues.

The hotel is next to Embassy Suites so in the same great 17th Street

location:D...near lots of restaurants and close to the port!

Hi Lois;

Thank you so much for the info and your quick response!! Glad to hear that you liked Hyatt Place as well.

I'm also picking up great tips! We're hoping to get an early flight arriving around noon. We're interested in taking the Water Taxi. Are any of the hotels mentioned within walking distance?

Wow! I was really impressed with the pictures on the site you included. Could you tell me if the Yankee Clipper was within walking distance of any stores/liquor stores? Restaurants? Thanks!

It's within a 30 minute walk to the beachfront stores and restaurants. Just turn right/north on A1A.
