StlCruisingFool Posted June 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2010 We have cancelled our Disney cruise for Alaska and we are going to be booking a Princess cruisetour. Obviously we are very used to traveling with the mouse where soda and everything is included in our fare. What extras do we have to pay for on boards besides our trips? Soda, how much is it or is it included? Food places? Are they all included or do some of them cost extra? Can I carry soda on board if I choose to? You will pay extra for soda, Juice (if wanted after breakfast; breakfast juices are free) liquor, some specialty coffees, some food places, spa services. The main dining room, buffet, and some smaller food venues are free.
paul929207 Posted June 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2010 Sodas are not included. One soda is about $2 +15% tip. Soda card is $4.25 per day +15% tip. Card includes only fountain sodas, not cans and not room service. It is good in dining rooms. You can carry soda onboard.

Two restaurants for that; Sabatini's (Italian) Crown Grill or Sterling (steakhouse). Charges are $20, and $25 respectively. Yes, you can carry all the soda you want on board. StlCruisingFool Posted June 20, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted June 20, 2010 Another questions...Are the buffet, places near the pool, and room service included in the cost already?
Rare TracieABD Posted June 20, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 20, 2010 Yes. Food is included in your cruise price. The exception to that is the "specialty resturants", they may have an upcharge of 20-25 dollars pp. These venues are totally optional. There is a 3 dollar charge for room service delivery of a whole pizza. Also on some ships they have gelato in the International Cafe. The charge is 1.50 for 3 scoops. :)
Ash's Aunt Posted June 20, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 20, 2010 Yes, the buffet, pizza counter, the grill (hamburgers and hotdogs), and room service are free. You will, however, pay for a whole pizza delivered via room service ($3) We cruised on Emerald in May. We bought a case of Coke Zero and a case of water at the supermarket, taped luggage tags on them, and checked them with a luggage to the porter. caribill Posted June 20, 2010 #9 Share Posted June 20, 2010 The biggest extra cost is booking your next cruise. (If you do think you will cruise with Princess again, at the Future Cruise Consultant's desk, purchase Future Cruise Credits (FCC) for $100 each in the name of each passenger. These will serve as your deposit for your next Princess cruise anytime in the next four years. If not used by then, you will have your money refunded. If you do use them, you will also get on the cruise you use them onboard credit (OBC) ranging from$25/person to $150/person depending on the cabin being inside or outside and the length of the cruise. The OBC is only given to the first two people in the cabin on that future cruise.)
Cruisin' Chick Posted June 20, 2010 #10 Share Posted June 20, 2010 BTW, in every cabin on a Princess ship, there is a mini-fridge. Nice for cooling those cans or bottles of soda.
wizard-of-roz Posted June 21, 2010 #11 Share Posted June 21, 2010 We bring the Crystal Light packets [so light and easy to pack], then go to the buffet, get a glass of ice water and pour in the packet.....they have different flavors and we've gotten to like them better than soda. Or bring a couple of water bottles and keep re-filling it during the cruise. You can also bring a sippy-mug onboard and fill this with your drink. Princess now offers ice-cream at no charge. Your Cabin Steward will bring you fresh ice every day. You can fill your mug or glass. Also, go to the buffet area and get some cookies/chips & dip or fruit and bring it with you to the pool/movies or back to your cabin.
