Ocean players club....

I recently contacted OPC and asked if I had a membership number, as I had previously registered and I'm coming up on my 4th cruise on Carnival. They said no, I was never registered and even if I had not spent one dime but had inserted my room card (which I always do), that I would be "registered". Strangely enough, they could find no record of me ever. And I like to donate to the slots quite a bit ...

I think I'd try again & hope someone else answers the phone! Give your name & DOB and anyone traveling with you who has gambled's name and DOB. Give them past Booking numbers/date/ship; something to make them dig a bit more. It had been 2 years since we'd cruised with Carnival and they found us in a matter of minutes.

First time I called I had no membership/player number and she didn't need it. I gave full name of myself and husband, dob for both, past booking #'s and future booking #. She looked me up by birthday I guess  and had a Bon Voyage pkg waiting on us. If you like to donate to the slots, you've donated in the last year or so, you've used your S & S card...you SHOULD be in their computer.

btw: I haven't used a membership number on the 2 following cruises either. The Players Club guy who got my comps on Princess gave them to me because I asked; but he didn't need them. fwiw.

I think it would be worth another call or fill in the form on the Players club site and send it in. (form on site gets you an email with a "real person" name on it.) JMHO.

Good luck!

can you give me an idea of how much ya'll usually spend to be treated so well???

We like to gamble and play VP most days on a cruise. We usually come out even or ahead or way ahead! We both take what we have to spare and play and don't really keep up as that could spoil our cruise!! I'd prefer to not mention estimates of how much or how little; just because I don't want to have to listen to other's opinions of what I do with my money and time on a cruise!

I think anyone who has gambled at all with C & C card in; regardless of how much or what kind of machine, can get rated by the players club. They might tell you "sorry", but they also might put you a list to watch and perhaps comp during the cruise or they might have goodies in your stateroom (or dinner table) first day. Not sure how it works; but I'm sure glad I happened on this tread because so far I've gotten comps and cash on 3 cruises since July.

It doesn't hurt to call and ask them if you have any comps available.

Thanks everyone that posted about the players club, on my last cruise I played the slots before knowing about the sail and sign card be needing to be inserted.

Call the club and the young lady was very nice and told me that I did qualify for a bon vourage pkg. I was really shocked, I have VIP cards for several Vegas casino and here at home. Shocking I have a Grazie Card a pervious visit to Vegas.

Hope to get more gifts for my next 3 up coming in the next 2 years.

My husband and I usually play table games. Are you still able to get perks or is it mostly for the slots? I know in Vegas, Atlantic City, etc. you give them your card and you are rated, but I have never seen anyone give someone their card in the casino on the ship. Just curious........

Thanks!

My husband always gave his card when playing 3card Poker. I just emailed the Players club and will post any response I receive!

Thanks everyone for all the information! We are not huge gamblers by any stretch but on our last cruise on the Miracle, we played and won quite a bit. I was a little surprised a few weeks ago when I received an email telling me I qualify for $50.00 casino credit and $25.00 for DH, and 25% off my next cruise. I am now psyched, we just booked a cruise, got casino credit and now after reading this thread I am going to make sure I call the Ocean Players Club to see if I qualify for anything else for my next cruise in April. Thanks Again!!!:)

I emailed the Players club with no response. Today I called and spoke with Michael, who is very nice. I told him that I heard we could get some comps based on our past plays. He checked our history of playing (we don't do slots, only 3 card Poker) and first said that we didn't qualify. I spoke up and said that was strange as we made sure our plays were tracked by the pit bosses. My husband always bets 25-50 bucks per hand and we played long and left lots of money on the boat, so I asked him to double check. He then came back and said we quality for $125 cash comp! Cool! We should go see the Casino cashier to pick it up when we board!

Thanks for everyone sharing their tips. We have been gamling for years and never knew about this. $125 is not alot, but its more than nothing!

After reading the thread I called and spoke with Mike who informed me that I will have $150.00 cash at the cage, which partially makes up for my casino disaster on my last cruise. I am pleased.

Michael told me the same thing earlier this week. We sail in December. Was the cash really waiting for you?

I just called and spoke with Mike and said that my room, as well as parents, would receive a VIP package.

The reason a VIP is on our last cruise, we did not receive a package (after calling in advanced and said we were going to get a basket) so I called upon us arriving back from the cruise and Serena said that on our next cruise, she would make sure we are well taken care of. I am not sure what the VIP package will consist of, but hopefully it comes this time. Oh, and some casino cash-comp play would be nice as well.

I just spoke with Michael and he said I can receive $75 in cash comps the first night of our upcoming cruise based on my plan on a Princess cruise in 2010. He said my wife didn't qualify for anything, but she received $100 in OBC when we made the booking through the reservation agent based on a mailing she'd received. He didn't mention a bon voyage package though.

I've had good and bad luck since they started switching over to the Carnival Players club. It's been a long time since I got a reply email but I always email both places just in case.

I also call and when I called yesterday I was a little disappointed that Michael said I was only getting $50 casino cash. I usually rack up 4000+ points and had been getting at least $75.

A friend of mine tried emailing and never received a response. She finally called them and was told they've had problems with the email and have removed it from the site. Calling them is the way to go: 888-672-2582.

Wow...very interesting... On every cruise after my first one, I've always received SOMETHING. The last two times it was the premium package. And when I sailed five months ago, I gambled enough to earn the Drinks On Us tag. :D

I just called about my upcoming cruise and was told I qualified for NOTHING. Zero, nada, zip.

The rep (Jennifer?) said they aren't doing the fruit baskets any more. But after hanging up, I emailed Players Club so we'll see. I don't gamble for the freebies, but I may gamble less this time just because she was "snippy" on the phone.
