Sky Suite or Celebrity Suite on Alaska Infinity?

We just booked CS cabin 6104 on Infinity to Alaska on May 10th. WE were booked in a SS #6101. The SS had a balcony..but the CS does not. The CS has a large panoramic floor to ceiling window and the cabin is almost 2x larger!

Will we miss the balcony? We just figured the weather in Alaska might prevent very much balcony usage. Are we assuming correct? This is our first Alaska cruise and our 2nd cruise with Celebrity. So..we don't know much about Celebrity ships. Thanks for your help

It depends on what is more important to you, cabin space or a balcony. The celebrity suite is a much nicer cabin inside. In my view, sky suites aren't worth what Celebrity charges for them. They are only marginally larger than Concierge Class cabins and C1s have better balconies than sky suites.

If the weather in Alaska is cold or rainy, you'll love your larger cabin and your views. If the weather is gorgeous (which ours was this May), get outside and enjoy it! There are many wonderful places on deck to enjoy views and good weather. And you'll meet some of your wonderful fellow cruisers.

By the way, I noticed you're Diamond on RCL. Call the Captain's Club at Celebrity (if you haven't already) and get yourself set up with Elite status. There are lots of wonderful perks that come with being Elite, some free drinks, 90 minutes free internet, and some free laundry/dry cleaning/pressing for starters.

Enjoy your first Alaska cruise! You'll want to go back.

Weather is always problematic on an Alaskan cruise and May 10 is early season when chances for bad weather are greater. People with verandas often get extra blankets so that they can sit outside and enjoy passing scenery. You will be able to sit inside and do the same :).And if it is rainy and windy, the veranda might not be inviting at all.

You have probably THE BEST CS on the ship. Facing forward on deck 6 along with all the RS & PS. The better butlers and stateroom attendants are on that floor.

The CS is a great suite and so FAR superior to the SS on the "M" Class ships it's not even debateable except for the balcony. But as others have said with Alaska that's not necessarily a plus. As others have also said the SS on "M" class are not worth the extra dollars.

You've definitely made the right choice. Have a wonderful cruise!!:)

Considering your cruise is in May, I think you have made a great choice. It will still be pretty cold. We did the last cruise for the season in Sept and it was also pretty chilly to use our balcony much..

I hope to book a CS someday.. they look wonderful.
