We just found out the entertainment on our Oasis cruise.

Has anyone seen these performers?

AJ Jamal - Comedian

Sergeii Shcherbinin - Ice Act/Sand Artist

Ed Manego - Cocktail Pianist

Mark O'Bitz - Pub Entertainer

Smooth Sailing Trio - Floating Centrum Trio

You'll find that while the entertainers on the ship are on the "cruise ship circuit" and are not "A" list performers, they are very entertaining, nevertheless. It's rare nowadays to find well-known celebrities on a ship.

Don't worry...they'll entertain you just fine!

We've never heard of any of the "Celebrities" before our cruises, except Marty Allen & Johnny Thunder who were on the Grandeur last October. Marty Allen was funny. Johnny Thunder was a one hit wonder, with a song (Loop De Loop) that made it up to #4 back in February 1963! It think that was about when Marty Allen peaked, too.

 

Gotta say that I did enjoy hearing Marty's old jokes, again

I am very familiar with AJ Jamal! He has been HBO and other comedian shows....very hilarious! If he does an late night adult show make sure you catch it cause I know he will have you dying laughing! YOu can probably find some of his acts on Youtube.

I remember the Texas Tenors from America's Got Talent and I really enjoyed them. Sometimes I am puzzled by who actually wins each season. Some of the ones who don't even finish in the top five are more entertaining...well, for my taste.

Comic Alan Bursky, who was a friend of the late Freddy Prinz & did a guest-star role on the Partridge Family in 74, was a comic on one of our cruises.

I have not heard of those particular performers but that does not mean that they are not wonderful. Keep an open mind, go and enjoy!

How were you able to access this list?

If you email RCI at web_reservations@rccl.com (be sure to put an underscore _ between the words "web" and reservations) RCI will provide you with a list of the entertainers who are scheduled to perform on your cruise. They usually respond within a few days and the lists are pretty accurate, allowing of course for any last minute additions or deletions which might occur. I have the lists for our upcoming Jewel and Liberty cruises in October and November. Some of the names are familiar. Some are not. It has been my experience that some of the unknown performers actually put on better shows than some of those whose names were more familiar.:)

We had the Nelson Twins on Rhapsody last May in Alaska. They did a tribute to their dad. It was a great show and they were nice guys when you saw them around the ship.

Ed Mengo was in the Schooner Bar on the Explorer a couple years ago. He was the best one I've seen in the Schooner. Everyone really enjoyed him.
