Pacific Jewel Not Going to Norfolk Island on Sunday

The Pacific Jewel was scheduled to visit Norfolk Island but due to the size of the storm in the area and the height of the swell and waves it had to divert from Tonga across towards Vanuatu. It then sailed up between New Caledonia and Vanuatu. The stop was made at Port Villa and there were several shops open and there were a large number of stalls at the Market. I along with over 1000 got off Jewel and went into the Markets and Town. Shops were late in opening as they had closed for the day and had to get staff in. Never the less some great shopping was had by all.

While most passengers understood the decision to cancel the Norfolk trip (there was even applause on the top deck after the detailed announcement at Tonga), there seemed to be a lot more happier people once the Vila stopover was announced - REAL duty free prices. :D
