14118 has extended balcony.

Please see several photos of 14118 in this Review page 1.

You're the BEST, Lusitanica.

I've thanked you before, but I gotta thank you again.

I love learning of the one or two secretly cool cabins on each ship.

We just sailed on the Spirit this summer and enjoyed a similarly unique cabin.....actually almost the same placement and balcony bonus! I think it was the best cabin on that ship!

Thanks again!

Thank you ! I was wondering about the balcony size  - do u think it is large enough for a lounger ??? That would be very nice :o

Happy Cruising......

DonnaF :D

Well, it's barely big enough for a lounger, but not sure how you would get one there. :)

On the deck plans it looks like the balcony may be a bit bigger,,,,,,but can never trust those deck plans  Regarding the lounger, I would simply *ask* and see if one could be brought in :o Hopefully cabin 11108 will be great for us - looking forward to it ! !

Happy Cruising......

Could you share this cabin # from the Spirit you enjoyed?

Thanks!

Never hurts to ask! Another option is taking about 100 feet of rope with you and lowering one over the side from the pool deck. :D

Hi Lusitanica,

I just looked at some of your great 'location' photos and am trying to find an external view of #10184

I saw the external view of 10152 and when counting balconies and checking deck plan it didn't seem to match up- I'd appreciate your help and expertise.

(This message may have posted on another thread)

Many thanks

Sorry to see Epic feedback on CC getting worse again.:o

A bunch of "glowing" reviews seemed to say that the appropriate ship found the appropriate clientele - that would have been ideal.

Unfortunately some cruisers do not do their homework before cruising on Epic to avoid disappointment.

Epic has been fully covered in every detail.

So the whole picture is very clear.

I got 11192 and it looks much bigger I hope it is

I also need to know what food and entertainment venues I should book in advance on line

Any other info what not to miss appreciated

We are going MOSTLY for the ship as we have been to that part of the world before

Thanks

11192 overlooks open balconies on Deck 9 and lifeboats.

The bed is by the balcony.

The balcony is spacious but deep that makes the room darker.

Not a bad location (for the Epic).

Tons of info about that - please see Pages 1-2 of this Epic review.

I would just like to thank the OP for doing all of this work to show his side of the Epic. I appreciate any and all information that is presented on these boards. Some of the pictures were very telling. I had already decided not to go on the Epic. So this information does not change my mind but reinforces my decision.

I hope all of you who go on the Epic will have a wonderful time and because (not in spite of) the OP they will know in advance of all the issues with the ships and will not be disapointed at some aspects. Nothing worse than unplesant surprises.

I always read reviews when I am planning a cruise and take in the good and the bad and use them as advice in my decision making.

Again thank you OP for your time and talent.

I could only make it half way through all of this thread and was feeling like enough is enough. Negative negative negative.

I too went on the Epic. It was actually my first NCL cruise so I am not one of their "cheerleaders with an agends" that so many are accused of being. Heaven for bit someone have a good time.

I do not have a bad time on vacation because GUESS WHAT I am on VACATION! It could be worse..I could be working.

The OP is very very talented at video and picture taking..however..i have never seen someone go on vacation and work so hard to have a bad time. I feel sorry that you seem to have not enjoyed yourself. We all know that a cruise vacation is not a cheap one. Wish you could have just enjoyed yourself, you paid for it.

My husband and I are 35 and were ready for something different. We didnt find it to be a young crowd. It was our age and up. A really good mix of people. We had done Carnival previous to this cruise and we are not going back. We didnt have to deal with all the out of control kids, drunks and chain smokers...etc that do go along with our previous cruises. However that being said..even that didnt ruin past cruises. WE go to have fun!!! We take advantage of what ever a ship has to offer!!!

The sink thing was ridiculous...Why would you watch your sink overflow??? I am still wondering. Is the sink small? yes but not like i am going to take a bath in it or do my laundry...We never had a problem with the sinks, nor the doors on the bathroom, the bathroom set up, the smoke in the casino(which before the cruise was of great concern for me) the size of our room(an interior) or the look of the ship. I dont care what the ship looks like on the outside..didnt know it was a beauty pagent. I am more concerned with what the inside looked like and what was being offered. And we were offered alot!

We didnt realize that "freestyle" would end up being so important to us. I was a bit reserved on this before but after experiencing it I dont want to go back to the "being herded to dinner and then a show."

Every cruise anyone goes on can have negatives however it is up to the person to either dwell on them or move on...We choose to move on. Some people don't and i feel sorry for them. There was a ton to do on this ship and we could not physically do it all. That is why we intend on going back. We were on the go the entire cruise. Nothing was ever left dirty..the crew worked very hard to keep everything clean, neat and in order.

We were impressed by the ship, the entertainment, the food, the crew.....the EPIC made a great impression and we had a wonderful time.

Lusitanica, Awesome review & videos. I am happy that I talked a close friend out of this tub. I dreaded the only NCL cruise i went on because of the crew (this was just after the sale of NCL to Orient CL).....This ship would have been far worse! I must say that although I wont sail NCL, I did learn something from my sole experience on the bus line of cruise lines.....It is what you make of it! I was on a ship that had a crew with a bad attitude....and I reacted to this by getting a bad attitude myself. Never again! Although I have preferences on which line I sail, I know to read reviews now before I book (positive & negative) and to always remember that this vacation is what I make of it no matter what the attitude of the crew or other passengers may be.

Wow, and I see that attitude has stuck with you for 9 years.

Pretty good return on your investment, I'd say.

Have you bothered to read any of the other reviews that love the ship and rave about the crew? Just askin, because it seems like you're were looking for something to justify your negative impression of NCL and this ship, and found it in this guy's negative posts.
