Cruising89143 Posted October 29, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2010 That RCI made a slight change to the wave breaker on the Allure. The grill stretches back to cover part of where the first rescue vessel would have been placed. Looks nicer as it covers up some of the area. Tyler80 Posted October 29, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2010 Allure of the Seas Oasis of the Seas It's interesting to note the differences in where the rescue vessels are located in reference to the problems with the wave breaker.
Tyler80 Posted October 29, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 29, 2010 My opinion about Allure is that it looks as if a rescue vessel is missing. Apparently that is not the case because there are 9 rescue vessels on each side, but it looks like there is one missing. I understand wanting to reconfigure where they are to leave room for the wave breaker.
Tyler80 Posted October 29, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 29, 2010 This is better photo of Oasis. My questions is, is the wave breaker really necessary once the ship gets into sailing the caribbean sea? Wasn't the damage done during the crossing because of the storm/rough seas? Could a ship sailing the caribbean sea sustain damage to a rescue vessel like the first two on Oasis did? I know anything is possible, but it just seems odd. Cruising89143 Posted October 29, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted October 29, 2010 Same amount of rescue boats on Allure as Oasis. They moved the location of the first rescue vessel. It was moved in case the Allure were to encounter rough seas. This may not always be a Caribbean bound ship.
Richk582 Posted October 29, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 29, 2010 ya i saw that as well. I like the look, helps fiil the empty space, gives it a cool look. Better then the larger wave breaker added to Oasis.
DEIx15x8 Posted October 30, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 30, 2010 It was reported that a small rescue vessel was to go in the now vacant first spot. It's not there yet, don't know if that plan was scrapped or just delayed till Ft. Lauderdale. The way they constructed the extension it appears to have an opening for it. Pumbaamd Posted October 30, 2010 #8 Share Posted October 30, 2010 Nice to sea that they learned from the Oasis TA experience. Oasis and/or Allure could be doing repo TA's sometime in the future. R&D
denamo Posted October 30, 2010 #9 Share Posted October 30, 2010 Tyler80, Thanks for the great comparison shots. It is interesting how the Oasis helped make adjustments on the Allure. I'm sure there are other areas on the ship as well. Can't wait to see if we can figure those out once we're on board the Allure.
Rare steamboats Posted October 30, 2010 #10 Share Posted October 30, 2010 Thanks for posting the pix! I´ve noticed that part yesterday but I didn´t have a nice shot of the Oasis to compare. I´ve noticed earlier that they did not extend the wave braker like the ones on the Oasis and wondered why they didn´t. Now it definitely makes sense and it´s looking much better. steamboats
Tyler80 Posted November 2, 2010 #11 Share Posted November 2, 2010 Is it me or did anyone notice no solar panels on top of the Viking Crown Lounge on Allure like on Oasis?
