we have been in msc precioza west med cruise in august 2013,and we have been register to msc club on board.but untill today we have not receive any respond from them( msc cruises/msc club).

We have contact msc club by e-mail,long time ago but since then no reply from them. Also seems to be quite difficult to contact them regarding this issue.

Does anybody have any idea/suggestion what to do in order to claim the card and the points?

thanks in advance

If you have sailed with MSC before you would be entitled to a 5% discount on your current booking. However, it is only credited at the time of booking. Contact your travel agent and get them to deal with it.

I'm glad to hear your membership issue has been resolved. I hope your TA can arrange that 5% discount - you're entitled to it! In fact, I would go further and insist on it - you were a clubcard member at the time of booking.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've just made it to Black! I'll be chasing them up to make sure it's in the system before my upcoming sailing in March. I'm hopeful about it as I'm currently in contact with a supervisor on another matter that she's sorting for me so I'll be getting her to ensure the card gets issued, pronto

YOU beat me to it Amomondo. Anyway congratulations Beamafar, just in time to find that they are going to introduce some extra perks for higher points tallies, but not a new level, or so I was informed two weeks ago on my last cruise by the cruise consultant/ msc club rep on board

I got my points sorted out on board recently. Before my two recent cruises i had exactly 100 points; after these two cruises a 21 night and an 11 night with 8 spend points ( 3 of which are yet to be credited). None of the points for the 21 night (or the 5 spend points for that cruise)had been credited

This was all sorted for me on the cruise by the cruise consultant

I now have 148 points still with 3 to come.

She did an excellent job

You give me hope! I am still waiting for my points to be credited:( I have even copied an email an MSC Club to Mr. Sasso yesterday but I am not sure if he is the right person because the booking was done in Germany.

I contacted the UK MSC club via the MSCClub web site on Monday 15th Dec at 22:57 inquiring about the points due to my OH for the cruise we were on 2 weeks ago.

Today at 12:56 I had an email back saying the points had been added, when I checked it was correct.

I also checked my account and there were my 3 missing points added on as well, so I now have the expected 151.

I think that is a reasonable time scale to sort it out. just over 48 hrs from when they opened the office on tuesday morning

Help required please.

I have booked with MSC direct to go 9 Jan 2015 around the Med on the Splendida. Having read all this thread about the MSC Club and having joined last year, I emailed MSC direct to ensure I had received my discount. This is the reply: 'The Msc Club can´t be apply because you´ve booked a special promotion and they aren´t compatible.'

I'm hoping someone out there can shed light onto this for me - does the 5% discount only apply if you have paid the 'full brochure price'?

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with the price we've paid but if we can get another 5% I'll be ecstatic :)

I've always had the discount, and never against the full brochure price always against a promotional price, and even when I booked the second guest goes for £1, I got a 10p discount on that fare and paid £0.90.

This is from the T & Cs of the club

3. FURTHER INFORMATION ON SOME BENEFITS

MSC Club Member’s cruise discount extendible to all cabin occupants valid all year around (Classic 5%, Silver 8%, Gold 10%, Black 20%): Your discount has no seasonal restrictions and is valid per cabin. The discount can be combined with other brochure offers (excluding TANDEM). As an MSC Club Member you can extend your discount to the other people staying in your cabin. MSC Club discounts are not combinable with any other promotions, discounts, special offers and commercial ventures. The discount applies on the cruise price only, excluding flights, transfers and excursions. If you travel with other MSC Club Members, the higher MSC Club discount will be applied to the cruise fare.

It would appear that some offers are combinable (in GREEN) and some are not (in RED). What counts as a brochure offer and what is a promotion, discount or special offer I can't answer only MSC seem to be in possession of that information.

MSC really do baffle me sometimes with regard to club points, prior to our last cruise I had 67 points, the cruise was 18 nights plus onboard spend of over 1400 Euros, my reckoning says the total should now be 92, MSC say 85!

Hopefully at some point they will sort it out preferably before the next cruise.

They have obviously omitted the on-board spend.

When this happened to me I scanned my final invoice and attached it to an e-mail and sent it to the MSC club UK and asked them to sort it out.

If they don't sort it out before the next cruise, take your booking form and final invoice with you and get the cruise consultant to sort it out for you. Hopefully you'll be BLACK after the next cruise and get the very nice discount and perks for future cruises.

You can get the cruise consultant to get a print out of your account, it lists all the cruises and their points for nights on board together with "generic " bonus points and "revenue" bonus points along with your total points

Hi Pete .... just had another e mail from them telling me my points are only 21 for onboard spend for four ships which have been 2 x 18 nights, 1 x 15 nights and 1 x 7 nights! plus 11 bonus points ?

With a spend of at least 1400 Euros on each of the 18 and 15 that is 21 alone without the Opera spend. these people are damned hard work.

Does some of the spend relate to casino spend? in which case they will in all probability not count it

by my calculation they should have 18 + 18 + 15 + 7 = 58 points for nights on board

they say you have 21 points for spend. new total is 58 + 21 = 79

in addition they say you have 11 bonus points so the grand total should be 90. this is by their reckoning . bonus points are different to spend (revenue) points. your dispute is with the onboard spend (revenue ) points.

Below is a print out I got during my Sinfonia cruise and you can see the three different types of points awarded.

i think if you have the booking numbers and final invoices to hand you are best off talking face to face with the cruise consultant on your next cruise. and get them to sort it out or explain why there is a difference
